publive-imageColors has acquired the broadcast rights of Super Fight League (SFL) started by Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt to telecast Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Having forayed into the sports entertainment genre with Ring Ka King, Colors now marks its dominance in the alternative sports entertainment genre in the GEC segment by adding SFL to its kitty.

Super Fight League is India's first professionally organised MMA league that kicked off on Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Mumbai. Building on the growing interest in alternative and non-cricket sports entertainment, a unique format has been adopted for the Super Fight League. It will involve real freestyle fighting and will be preceded by 45 minutes of live Bollywood-style entertainment from leading stars including Bipasha Basu.

We have a long-term vision for this league and the eyeballs that Colors brings will take this sport to another level. We pride ourselves on being able to break the cricket dominated market with a new form of sport and entertainment. We are ready to make history as India's first MMA event is unleashed and some of the best Indian fighters introduced to the world.”

Speaking about the association, Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, said, “Colors has always been at the forefront of experimenting with new formats and differentiated programming thereby fulfilling the role of a complete general entertainment channel. Mixed Martial Arts is currently a craze in the US on television and we are excited to partner with Super Fight League in India.”

Adding to this, Sanjay Dutt, Co-Founder, Super Fight League, said, “The broadcast deal with Colors will add a lot of value and create the awareness required for this sport which is new to India, yet one of the biggest action sports worldwide.”
