publive-imageJagran Pehel has roped in living legend of Indian Photography Raghu Rai to judge its nationwide photography contest on the theme of girl child 'Gender Barabar'. The contest will encourage active participation of creative minds from across the country while capturing the theme aptly through eyes of a lens. The contest seeks entries from across the country on the subject of Girl Child in larger context of gender equality. The entries were closed on 14th, February 2012.

The photographs of top thirty entries will then be showcased in Grand Finale event in Delhi on March 18, 2012 during International Women's Week at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi, along with the felicitation of the winners. A two day exhibition of selected photographs will be also be organized at Delhi Hatt on 16th and 17th of March 2012.

Speaking about the campaign, Anand Madhab, National Head of Jagran Pehel said, “The pan India Photography contest is organized by Jagran Pehel is an initiative to sensitize people on the issue of Girl Child especially in relevance to the declining sex ratio figures that our country is witnessing. I look forward to a larger participation by people in the competition so as to make this entire effort worthwhile”.
