IBN Network felicitates the best Citizen Journalists
Fifteen 'Citizens against Corruption' were felicitated at the fourth edition of CJ Awards

Samaritans are always praised. But how often are they rewarded or awarded? In an initiative to recognise and honour the stand taken by the common man to root out corruption from India, the IBN Network in partnership with Idea Cellular, felicitated the 15 Citizen Journalists who stood up against corruption.
The 15 CJs were honoured by leading actress Vidya Balan at a glittering award ceremony in Delhi on Monday evening.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and Lokmat, said, “These individuals have taken it on themselves to eradicate the malaise of corruption from our system and have given millions hope to take a stand against corruption, be it in any form. It is a true honour to felicitate these brave citizens.”
Ashutosh, Managing Editor, IBN7, said, “These winners and their stories instil in all of us a sense of hope and inspiration towards restructuring our society and the country by standing firm and strong against corruption. It is our privilege to award these Citizen Journalists against corruption.”
The award adhered to a two-tier selection process. The 15 CJs who were awarded included Gaurav Bakshi, Amarnath Deo Pandey, Payi Gyadi, Daulat Ram, Pradeep Bhatia, Vijay Goyal, Parikshit Dalal, Shefali Sewak, Mangla Ram Meghval, Ram Varshney, Raghvendra Upadhyay, Vijay Pal Singh, Vinaya Raghvan and Mani M in the Video category and Anjan Kumar Samal in Photo category.
Nikhil Wagle, Editor, IBN-Lokmat, said, “If corruption is to end in our country, it will only end when all the citizens come together to say 'Bribe bandh'. These citizen journalists have proved that even individually, we all can be instruments of a positive change in our society.”
The event will be telecast on March 3, 2012 on CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat.
