Al Jazeera appoints O&M as creative agency and Motivator for media

Global market research firm TNS to monitor effectiveness of its brand campaign

BestMediaInfo Bureau | Delhi | February 1, 2012

publive-imageAfter a year of its launch in India, Al Jazeera English is all set to unveil its first campaign. The Qatar-based global news broadcaster has appointed Ogilvy & Mather Delhi as its creative agency while GroupM's Motivator has bagged the media duties. Al Jazeera has also appointed a global market research firm TNS to monitor the effectiveness of its brand campaign.

Sources close to the development have confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo. The first campaign is expected to be launched by next month.

For the record, Al Jazeera English got the permission to broadcast in India in 2010. Since then, the channel has been available through various cable networks across the country. The channel took a big leap in November 2011 when it was added on the Dish TV direct-to-home (DTH) platform to expand its reach to 12 million Dish TV subscribers and over 48 million individuals across India.

Al Jazeera English has extensive global reach through it more than 70 bureaus spanning six continents. It has operated a bureau in New Delhi since its establishment five years ago, headed by Bureau Chief Anmol Saxena.
