Jaideep Dhagat, head of National Government Vertical speaks in detail about Dainik Bhaskar Mission Infrastructure 3.0.
Dainik Bhaskar Group recently announced a unique forum on infrastructure – Dainik Bhaskar Mission Infracture 3.0 – which is the fourth big property launched by the group’s National Government Vertical. To dig out more on this, BestMediaInfo.com spoke to Jaideep Dhagat, Senior General Manager & Business Head, National Government Vertical, Dainik Bhaskar Group.
Why is Dainik Bhaskar doing an infrastructure event?
Dainik Bhaskar as a group as well as a newspaper has always taken a keen interest in India's development and with development comes infrastructure. Also, we as the National Government Vertical (NGV) within DB Group, interact with organizations (mainly PSUs, government departments, organizations and ministries) for whom development and infrastructure is their primary focus. It was therefore an obvious joining of the dots for the NGV team at DB Group. Through this event, we take a step forward to further strengthen public-private-partnership model.
Why call it Dainik Bhaskar Mission Infrastructure 3.0?
We have named it “Mission Infrastructure” to make it more grounded in what needs to be done on a war-footing instead of discussing a vision. The numeric “3.0” represents the third wave of new thinking about infrastructure in India that DBMI 3.0 proposes to usher in.
How is DBMI unique?
DBMI 3.0 proposes to bring about a paradigm shift in the present approach to infrastructure development in India. The central idea is that infrastructure needs to be approached from end-results point of view, which they are presently not. DBMI 3.0 will attempt to bring in a people focus into infrastructure creation.
How is DBMI structured?
DBMI 3.0 will attempt to create meaningful, productive and result-oriented deliberation on issues related to “implementation” and “public good” aspects of infrastructure development in India covering all activities of an infrastructure project. The day-long event has 4 key components,
What will be the outcome of DBMI 3.0?
DBMI 3.0 will attempt to create meaningful, productive and result-oriented deliberation on issues related to “implementation” and “public good” aspects of infrastructure development in India. Bringing agricultural and rural infrastructure and people infrastructure into the ambit on a national debate on infrastructure development is one of our key objectives. We will also generate a proceedings report and status paper on infrastructure soon after the event.
