Hindustan Times and The Times of India, the two most read English newspapers in the national capital, have announced the hike in their cover price by 50 paise on Tuesday and Wednesday. Now the dailies will be available at a cover price of Rs.3.50 on these 2 weekdays.
“In order to meet the very significant cost increases of late, we have increased the cover price by 50p effective today for our editions every Tuesday and Wednesday,” said Hindustan Times.
Hindustan Times leads the Delhi market according to the Average Issue Readership released by Indian Readership Survey. In IRS Q1 2011, HT had recorded an AIR of 19.54 lakh followed closely by TOI with an AIR of 18.9 lakh.
