publive-imageSpotlight, the OOH arm of The Sandesh Ltd. has bagged the tender for outdoor advertising rights at the CG Road, Ahmedabad. It is the most elite road of Ahmedabad, starting from Stadium 6 Roads to Parimal Crossing. This was the first road which was built under Public – Pvt. Partnership by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Arvind Mills. As part of the deal, they were offered advertising rights, which in turn were initially outsourced to Vantage.

Later on AMC had called for bidding of this road and Sambhaav Media Ltd, had the rights for last 5 years. That gets over on 31st July 2011. In the fresh bid which was called and opened on 9th May 2011, Spotlight the newly formed OOH division of Sandesh has been the highest and successful bidder.

The other bidders included Sambhaav, Het Graphics, Krishna and Indian Chronicle.

All the structures are backlit, and excellent aesthetically. The rights are for 3 years.

Spotlight, with successful bidding of this tender, becomes a leading player in OOH space in Ahmedabad. It already has exclusive rights of the prestigious BRTS Bus shelters, 132 ft ring road from AUDA ( includes prime location of IIM etc.), 120 ft Rd from AMC and now C G Rd. In all it has more than 150 tendered properties in western Ahmedabad, which is the most elite geographical area for any advertiser to target.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahoul Shah - Director - Marketing, The Sandesh Ltd. said,OOH is a natural and synergistic diversification for Sandesh. We set up Spotlight a year back. We bring two distinct strengths. Corporate credibility which is quite critical in this business and very strong connects with a large base of advertisers. As a listed media house, we needed scale and size for the division to create impact internally. As pertains to size, with in a year of inception, we are now an 18 to 20 Crores division. Fortunately for us, the industry is also getting pretty serious about mandating the business with definite standard practices.”

“Almost all our properties are tendered, at ground level, and strategically selected in the prime area of Ahmedabad. We would like to look at pan Gujarat presence over the next few years, making us one of the strongest OOH player from Gujarat,” added Shah.
