WAT Awards 2011 honored Web, Advertising & Technology stalwarts that are contributing to the productivity and innovation excellence. An initiative by WATBlog, WAT Awards 2011 recognized & felicitated agencies & professionals in 20 categories, who have achieved ground breaking work in the Indian digital space since its inception. The List of nominees and Award winners is attached below.

The event kick started with a welcome speech by WATBlog's chief blogger, Rajiv Dingra. Chief Guest Lalit Bhagia, VP & Head Digital, Star TV delivered the key note address which was followed by a Jury panel discussion on “Searching for excellence in Digital Media”

Jury panel included industry stalwarts, Bipin Chandran (the Editor, Entrepreneur Magazine); Carlton D'silva (Creative Director, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment); Karl Gomes (Co-Founder, AgencyDigi); Mahesh Murthy (Founder, Pinstorm | Managing Partner, Seedfund); Max Hegerman (President, Tribal DDBIndia); Sajan Raj Kurup (Founder and Creative Chairman, Creativeland Asia) and Vishal Parekh (Marketing Director, Kingston). The discussion was moderated by Rajiv Dingra.

WAT Awards 2011 attracted a varied demographic spread consisting of Digital & Social Media Stalwarts, CEO's, CXO's, Brand Managers, Strategists, Bloggers, Entrepreneurs and others.Based on an aggressive marketing campaign and because of its uniqueness the attendance for the awards night was highly extensive, with a footfall of more than 300 people.

One of the youngest winners of the night was Deliverychef.in. Aditi Talreja founder deliverychef.in was really glad to receive Ecommerce site of the year, expressing her happiness and recognition given by WAT awards she said “DeliveryChef.in is delighted to win the award for E-commerce Site of the Year 2011 – We're still only 6 months old, and are glad we've been able to make a mark for ourselves turning ordering food for delivery from Mumbai's best restaurants into an easy, convenient and cost-effective experience. Winning this award has motivated us to work harder and make Delivery Chef the most popular way to order food for deliveries. A big thank you to all our restaurant partners and customers with whose support we've gotten this far!”

Commenting on this occasion, Rajiv Dingra said, “having played a vital role as a catalyst and evangelist of Digital Medium via WATBlog – India's leading Technology blog, we felt there was a need for recognition for top digital talent, hence the need of WAT Awards 2011 which will aim to recognize the best in the business of Digital Media”.

WATBlog's idea behind WAT Awards was to create an annual platform which celebrates the quality of successful work done by professionals within the Indian digital media circle. From agencies to campaigns done by them; from startups to entrepreneurs heading them - every essence of digital media was rewarded at WATBlog's first ever Awards i.e. WAT AWARDS 2011 – Rewarding India's Digital Stalwarts.
