Scarecrow Communications, one of the fastest growing independent ad agencies in the country, with brands like Religare, DNA, Future Capital, Margo and Ackruti City has roped in Anindya Banerjee to head its creative function in Delhi.
Anindya, aka Andy, whose last stint was in Law & Kenneth, has nearly 14 years of experience in leading agencies like Ogilvy, Contract and Publicis. He has several successful campaigns on brands such as NIIT, Nestle, IBM, Limca, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Vodafone, Limca, Dabur Vatika, Allen Solly, LG Phones, Perfetti, Maruti, Unitech and Lotus Herbals. Amongst his two most widely recalled campaigns have been the landmark 'Me and Meri Maggi' campaign and the relaunch of Limca.
He has won over 40 national and international awards that include Cannes, One show, Asia-Pacific Adfest, ABBYs, EFFIEs and EMVIEs.
On his joining, Andy said, "I have known Joy, Manish and Raghu for almost 15 years. And every time we have worked together, there was a vibe. And a joie de vivre that emanated from the sheer happiness of creating wonderful work without losing out on the objective of the campaign. In any case, I have always believed in the power of the independent agency, so when this opportunity arose, I grabbed it.”
Speaking on the appointment, Founder Director of Scarecrow Communications Raghu Bhat says, "Andy brings many things to the table - Subversive creativity, speed of thinking, a cool head primed by experience, bounce-backability, integrity and absence of ego. Qualities that are essential ammunition for tomorrow's creative business problem solving professional."
Manish Bhatt, Co-Founder, Scarecrow Communications Ltd. comments, "Andy will provide great creative leadership in Delhi. His equity comes from the work he has done, not from PR. He will also attract great talent and will make Scarecrow Delhi a happy, non-political, creative place to work in."
Says Co-Founder, Joy Sengupta, "Till now, work for our big Delhi clients like Religare Broking, Religare Health Insurance and Bharat Petroleum used to happen from Mumbai. With Andy's arrival, we will be able to compete more effectively with Delhi-based agencies in new business pitches."
Scarecrow, already has an office inside a British era film theatre, called Delite, will now relocate to a bigger, more centrally located office to accommodate its fast growing team. As Raghu Bhat says, "Hopefully, we should be able to announce a big signing in Delhi in the next few days." Watch this space for more.
