Mail Today finds Manoj Sharma to replace Suresh Balakrishnan

Sharma returns to India Today Group as Business Head for Mail Today after Rakesh Sharma declined to join as COO.

Manoj Sharma is all set to join Mail today as its business head. Sharma had quit India TV as Group Business Head in November last year. He spent almost 10 months with India TV. It is the home coming for Sharma who had previously spent 18 years with the India Today group. This is going to be Sharma's third stint with the India today group.

Highly placed sources in the industry have confirmed the development with BestMediaInfo.com. The sources informed that Manoj Sharma will be resuming office this week and he will report into Ashish Bagga, CEO, India Today Group. He will replace Suresh Balakrishnan, the outgoing COO of the compact daily who resigned in January and has been serving his notice period till now.

Earlier, CEO of Aaj Samaj and India News Rakesh Sharma, who was to replace Suresh Balakrishnan, COO, Mail Today, didn't join the compact daily for unknown reasons. Failed in finding his replacement, India Today has decided to bring in group's old confidant Manoj Sharma as Business head.

Sharma first  joined India Today in 1990 and got to head the launch of quite a few of their new products like 'Cosmopolitan' and 'Today', and the afternoon newspaper. Sharma also worked with CNBC TV 18 for a year, where he was Business Development Head for the North and East markets. Sharma has 20 years of experience, of which 18 years were with the India Today Group.
