publive-imageIDG India's CIO magazine has awarded the CIO100 Award to IIFL at the 6th annual CIO100 awards held in Pune. The annual award program recognizes organizations that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). This year's award theme was "The Creative 100," which recognized a hundred IT leaders from leading Indian organizations for their creative use of enterprise technologies to meet their organization's business challenges.

IIFL won this award for its in-house trading platform called 'Trader Terminal'. It is widely acknowledged as one of the best available for investors in India. It is a comprehensive trading tool with charting and analytical capabilities to handle multiple asset classes that allows traders to analyze information, place orders and execute highly-reliable trade at lightning speed. IIFL has re-configured its server-side to run on dynamic architecture or as standalone infrastructure, public, private or hybrid clouds platform to address dynamic workloads. As a result, customer service calls have reduced drastically and delayed trades have also reduced from 30% to 2% percent.

Speaking on the occasion Sankarson Banerjee, Chief Information Officer, IIFL said, “Moving our Trader Terminal from traditional client-server architecture to a hybrid cloud product was walking into uncharted territory, but it has yielded results. We dramatically improved uptimes and customer satisfaction, and gained the ability to respond rapidly to market peaks without incurring huge capex costs."

IIFL is one of the leading players in the retail and institutional broking space with a market share of over 4% which has consistently grown over the years. IIFL offers advisory and execution platforms to over a million clients, through its wide network of over 3000 business locations, across 500 Indian cities and towns. With coverage of over 150 stocks, IIFL's in-depth, thematic and thought provoking research has been well received by clients.

IIFL is the first Indian broker to receive membership for stock broking at the Colombo and Singapore Stock Exchanges. The company now has a full-fledged team in Sri Lanka and Singapore and has also commenced broking operations in the two countries.

Vijay Ramachandran, Editor-in-Chief, IDG Media added, “Our congratulations to the winners of 2011, for not shying away from experimenting with new technologies or finding unique IT solutions to meet their business challenges”.
