“It's such an honor to have these international executives on the Global Awards Grand Jury.  They've proven themselves in the industry with their talent and reputation, and we look forward to them selecting the 'World's Best Work in Healthcare Communications™,' said Michael Demetriades, Executive Director, The Global Awards.

When asked what qualities the jury will be looking for in this year's Global Awards, Dave Buck, President of Crowley Webb & Associates, had this to say, “It's exciting to look at work on a global scale, and see how cultural influences can lead someone to a completely unexpected idea.  I look for something that solves the challenge in a way I haven't seen before. So much healthcare work falls into familiar patterns, so when someone breaks through, it really stands out, both for the judges and the intended audience.”

“We all know that pharmaceutical messages are restricted in ways that consumer messages are not – both for legal reasons and because medical audiences tend to be more conservative than general audiences. But every year, we see that certain creative people have somehow managed to rise above all the restrictions to produce work that is fresh, smart, simple and compelling. That's the sort of work I'll be looking for in this year's Global Awards,” commented Suzanne Pope, Creative Director, john st.  Toronto, Canada.

Digital entries submitted into the Global Awards will also be judged online. Online judging sessions allow an additional base of international jurors to be represented on the Global Awards Grand Jury.

The Global Awards Board, headed by Tom Domanico, Chairman Emeritus, Draftfcb Healthcare USA, is represented by a panel of prominent healthcare professionals.  Board members guide the judging process and ensure that the competition addresses the evolving needs of the healthcare communications industry.

The 2011 Global Awards will honor award-winners at celebrations held in Sydney, Australia on December 1st and New York City in early December 2011.

Now in its 17th year, The Global Awards receives entries from healthcare corporations, hospitals, advertising agencies, production companies, and design studios that produce communications for medical, pharmaceutical, and healthcare related products and services.

The Global Awards deadline for entries has been extended until August 19th, 2011.
