Chandragupta Maurya, the Number 1 show on Imagine TV is setting the ball rolling to take the generation leap and evolve into its most interesting phase. The lead character is now growing up from a boy to a man and will be essayed by the handsome Ashish Sharma, of Imagine TV's 'Gunaaho Ka Devta' fame.  The track will now showcase the journey of Alexandra's conquest over India, where Chanakya encourages Chandragupta to join Alexandra's army. The intention will be to weaken the army from within, which is a part of Chanakya's master plan.

On bagging this prestigious title role Ashish Sharma said, “This is a challenging role and more so since the child artist Rushiraj Powar portrayed the character with such élan. I ought to keep up the standard set and take on gracefully from this laid foundation. I seek the blessings of all my well wishers and fans and am thankful to Imagine TV and Sagar Arts and 72 Degress Northe for confirming their trust in me. I look forward to give my best to this promising role.”

Chandragupta Mauya which has garnered good TRP's for Imagine TV, will be airing the 10-year leap transition - from a young boy to an adult – with the death of his mother. Chandragupta Maurya is a tale of exemplary courage, valor & magnificence of a young man who was destined to a life of servitude until he came into contact with Chanakya, the scion of wisdom. Under his guidance, Chandragupta rose from being a mere commoner to one of the greatest kings of ancient India. Chanakya's motivation and encouragement helped Chandragupta become a master strategist, a diplomatic ruler as well as a sensitive & intuitive human being.
