COLORS, agitated after the reports published in some sections of media that said that the channel has approached Kannada actress Maria Susairaj, who was convicted in a murder case, for its flagship show Bigg Boss 5, has made it very clear that it hasn’t approached Maria.

In a written statement, the channel’s spokesperson said, “There are numerous speculative stories on Maria Susairaj's participation in Bigg Boss 5, we'd like to clarify we have neither approached Maria nor will be doing so in future.”

For the record, infamous celebs like Rahul Mahajan, Monica bedi, Seema Parihar and Bunty chor, who had served jail term for various criminal offenses, have participated in the earlier seasons of the show. However, the speculative news piece on Maria’s participation in the fifth season of Bigg Boss got criticized in the social circles specially on social media.

Recently, Bollywood Director Ram Gopal Verma said, “Now that Maria has been released I want to sign Maria susairaj for a film.”
