Channel V launches new dance reality show Footloose

Beginning 16^th July, Footloose promises to be an extreme frenzy of dance battles in different forms.

Move away from your boring bollywood naach-gaana routines, dramatic auditions and fake tears; it's time to let yourself loose! Dance is in all of us, but for some people dance is their life! Channel brings to you a new dance reality show where the nation's best dancers don't only compete, but also live with each other! Watch young, passionate and talented youth come on the dance-ground to showcase pure unadulterated dance. Witness an extreme frenzy of dance battles in different forms only on ' Footloose' beginning 16^th July, every Saturday at 7pm.

Announcing the launch, Prem Kamath, Executive Vice President and General Manager, said, “Today's youth want to invest their time pursuing hobbies that would lead to a career opportunity while sharpening their overall personality. Based on this insight, we arrived at a unique format, which would help our youth find a way to exploit their talents. This show is an extension of our findings, and we are certain that it will be very popular amongst the youth of this country.”

The dancers will live, eat and dance together. They will be put through grueling rehearsals, made to perform on unusual locations, go through heartbreaking eliminations and face loads of surprise elements. VJ Manish will host the search for the nation's favorite dancer, as they parade their unique take on hip-hop, Latin, contemporary, commercial, jazz and any number of freestyle moves, in a bid to win over the deans and judges of the show.

The stakes are high, apart from earning the coveted winner's title; comes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to cut a video with Channel , earn fat moolah and sweat it out under the glitzy extravagant lights while on tour.

Any talent hunt is not complete without a set of unique judges, having their final say on the dances. Meet Prosenjit Guy Kundu, Gaiti and Uma the authoritative deans who will be seen pushing the dancers, over the edge.

Gaiti & Uma have worked with the who's who of the Indian film and music industry, like Abhay Deol, Dia Mirza, Imran Khan and more. They have also choreographed a few songs for movies like Karthik Calling Karthik, Raaz 2 and also upcoming movies like Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Rockstar'. Prosenjit, having learnt dance abroad, has also worked extensively with many international artistes like Faith Evans, Fantasia and Ashanti.

All three will bring in their enormous and diverse knowledge of dance, and mentor the contestants.
