Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 opens higher than other reality shows

Beats other shows launched in last week - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs, X Factor India and Swayamvar Season 3.

With the IPL season ending in the last week of May, it was Hindi GECs turn to grab the eyeballs. So the first weekend of June saw the launch of several big ticket reality shows by almost all the channels.

While India's No.2 Hindi GEC COLORS came up with its flagship reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 with Akshay Kumar as host, Zee TV launched its oldest property Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs. Sony Entertainment Television brought internationally acclaimed reality show X Factor to India and Imagine TV introduced Ratan Rajput in Swayamvar season 3. The week also witnessed the premier of 2 fiction shows - humorous fiction show Hamari Saas Leela on COLORS and romantic fiction show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain on Sony.

Among all the reality shows, opening of Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 remained on top with a rating of 3.0 on TAM people meters while Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs on Zee TV followed closely with 2.7 TVR. X Factor India on Sony garnered 2.1 and Swayamvar 3 on Imagine TV recorded 1.6 TVRs according to the viewership data released for the week 23 of TAM 2011.

For the record, with Akshay Kumar as host, Khatron Ke Khiladi season one opened at 1.72 TVR in 2008 while season 2 opened at 4.37. The third season with Priyanka Chopra had recorded 5.49 TVR. Despite much lowered numbers this season, the officials at COLORS looked satisfied with an argument that such numbers for shows opening on weekends are extremely well. The earlier seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi premiered on Monday for which the viewership always remains high.

In terms of reach also, Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 remained at the top with 13.3% closely followed by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs with 9.5%. While X Factor India reached upto 8.3% audiences across HSM, Swayamvar recorded 6.6% reach.
