IRS Q1 2011: Top 10 dailies in Madhya Pradesh

Dainik Bhaskar, Nai Dunia and Nav Dunia continue growing in their home state.

publive-image'Dainik Bhaskar' has grown by 5.5% in its home ground in the first quarter of IRS 2011 over the last survey. Remaining the distant leader in the state, the flagship newspaper of Dainik Bhaskar Group has recorded an AIR of 37.3 lakh as compared to 35.34 lakh in the last quarter and 32.26 lakh in IRS Q1 2011. The paper has grown by 15.6% and added over 5 lakh readers over the past one year.

The second largest read daily of Madhya Pradesh is 'Nai Dunia + Nav Dunia' which has seen a tremendous growth over the past one year. The newspapers has combined AIR of 16.15 lakh in the state as compared to 14.99 lakh in the previous quarter.

At No.3, 'Patrika' has seen a marginal growth of 3% in IRS Q1 2011 over the last quarter. Its current AIR stands at 11.13 lakh as compared to 10.8 lakh in publive-imagethe previous quarter and 5.83 lakh in IRS Q1 2010.

'Raj Express' has lost 9.4% readers this quarter but the newspaper holds the 4th spot firmly. Its current AIR stands at 5.20 lakh as compared to 5.74 lakh in Q4 2010 and 6.26 lakh in Q1 2010.

'Dainik Jagran' has been able to hold its readership in IRS Q1 2011. The daily has recorded an AIR of 3.44 lakh readers in current survey as compared to 3.77 lakh in the same period of last year.

Despite losing more than 10% readers in the current survey, 'Hari Bhoomi' manages to be at No.6. Hari Bhoomi has recorded an AIR of 2.96 lakh in IRS Q1 2011 as compared to 3.3 lakh in previous survey and 1.89 lakh in Q1 2010.

'Dainik Agniban' has registered 12% growth in the first quarter of IRS 2011 and recorded an AIR of 2.9 lakh as compared to 2.58 lakh in the previous quarter. The paper had 2.26 lakh readers in the first quarter survey of last year.

'Nav Bharat' is losing its ground in Madhya Pradesh from past few quarters. At No.8, the newspaper has recorded an AIR of 1.77 lakh in IRS Q1 2011 as compared to 2 lakh in the previous quarter and 3.86 lakh in Q1 2010. The daily has seen a decline of more than 100% over the year.

'Dainik Prabhat Kiran' has also lost 18% readers in this quarter and its current AIR stands at 77,000 as compared to 94,000 readers in IRS Q4 2010 and 75,000 in Q1 2010.

The last in the top 10 league is 'The Times of India' with 71,000 readers in IRS Q1 2011 as compared to 73,000 in the previous survey.
