Entrepreneur announces winners of India Business Icons Awards 2011

Honors the entrepreneurs leaving a mark in their field of business with sharp business acumen and corporate style.

The winners of Seagram's Blenders Pride Entrepreneur India Business Icons Awards 2011 were announced at a grand ceremony in Hotel ITC Grand Central. Ajay Bijli, Chairman & MD, PVR was given the award in the Male category, while Meher Pudumjee Chairperson, Thermax Limited received the award in the Female category. Anirban Roy, Founder & MD, SEED was awarded under the Young India Business Icon category while Tara Thiagarajan, Chairperson and MD, Madura Micro Finance Limited received awards in the Social category. The Lifetime Achievement award went to Deepak Puri, Chairman and Managing Director, Moser Baer.

The process behind these awards was started six months ago via an online call for nominations that saw a large number of entries across verticals. These nominations were then vetted internally in association with the process auditors from Earnst & Young. The jury bench comprised of the below names –
