HT Media Ltd. has appointed Dipayan Chowdhury to head media marketing (ad sales) for Hindustan Times in Delhi. Dipayan starts his second innings with the organization after a break of 6 years during which he served DNA up to the position of National Sales Head. He joined HT first in 2001 and resigned in 2005 as Senior Manager.
At DNA, Dipayan was made National Sales Head in March 2010 but was sent back to head Delhi when Jitesh Rajdeo of Zee TV took over as Sales Head at DNA in March 2011. Dipayan was elevated to the position of Executive Vice President (Revenues) in March 2010 but within a year his demotion from a National role to a smaller role is said to be the reason behind this move.
Dipayan had joined DNA in 2006 from Hindustan Times. He has close to 19 years of experience across media and FMCG sectors. He is an MBA and an IIM smp (Calcutta) alumni and he started his career with Pepsi and was instrumental in launching the brand in Delhi. He also had stints in other newspapers such as ABP and Business Standard.
