As the world celebrated the historic occasion of the Wedding of Prince William & Catherine Middleton at London's Westminster's Abbey on Friday, Nigel Casey, British Deputy High Commissioner, and Deepak Shourie, Director, BBC Channels, South Asia hosted a party at the British High Commissioner's Residence to celebrate the British Royal Wedding on the 29th of April.

The magical evening affair, attended by attended by prominent guests of Shourie, like Shashi Tharoor & Sunanda Pushkar, Mark Tully, William and Olivia Dalrymple, Suhel Seth, Sarah Pilot, Shivani Wazir Pasrich and Amir Pasrich, Bina Ramani, among many others was indeed a wonderful culmination of a historic day for the British Monarchy.

As the gathering raised a toast to the royal couple, a typically British three-tier vanilla and orange cake, with a hint of ginger was cut amidst great fanfare. A champagne toast was also raised to the royal couple.

For those who missed the live telecast, guests had a chance to view the coverage on two large projector screens that played highlights from the telecast by BBC Entertainment.

BBC Entertainment was the first channel to start the live telecast at 1230 PM (IST).
