publive-imageIn partnership with The Brand Union and Lambie-Nairn, Cannes Lions has launched a new initiative for this year's festival: CannesAlso, which seeks to showcase the wonderful work creatives often produce in their spare time.

Each year, Cannes Lions strives to provide inspiration to its international delegates in every way possible. That inspiration, as everyone knows, can come from anywhere, and this year's inaugural exhibition will focus on photography.

Anyone who dabbles in photography, from utter beginner to semi-professional, can enter up to three pieces into CannesAlso – for free. The deadline for submission is rapidly approaching: 29 April.

World fame photographer Rankin has been confirmed as a guest judge for CannesAlso 2011, working with leading branding agencies The Brand Union and Lambie-Nairn to select the images that will be part of the inaugural exhibition.

On being appointed as jury for CannesAlso, Rankin said, "In a world where commercial art is king, it's great to be part of celebrating individuals' creative talent."

The Brand Union and Lambie-Nairn, both part of the WPP network, are designing and curating the exhibition space which will sit outside the main entrance to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes during Festival week 19 – 25 June 2011.
