publive-imageSony Entertainment Channel and Yashraj Films Television are again coming together to launch a new fiction show Kismat from 14th February at 10.30 pm slot. Earlier, YRF Television had produced 5 shows for Sony which ended on 1st July, 2010. Its first set of shows – 'Powder', 'Mahi Way', 'Rishta.com', 'Lift Kara De' and 'Seven' – were acknowledged for their distinct offerings, in terms of look, feel, colour, sound and language and engaging storylines but couldn't get the viewers for the channel.

Born on 15th of August, Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan mark the return of male protagonists on Indian Television in Kismat - an epic saga. Brought to you by Sony Entertainment Television and YRF Television, Kismat is a story of enmity between two powerful characters, spanning over 60 years in the post independence era. Continuing the tradition of larger than life stories and bringing back the romance of grand storytelling, the show is shot with impeccable Yashraj standards and redefines the benchmarks of fiction shows of tomorrow.

Speaking about the launch, Ajit Thakur, EVP and Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television commented “Kismat, the second show from YRF after Khotey Sikkey this year, is a powerful emotional epic saga set on a grand scale; two powerful characters with their own points of view juxtaposed against each other will bring out all the elements of drama and compelling storytelling, just the qualities YRF is known for.”

Ravina Kohli, Vice President and Creative Head of YRF Television said, "Kismat is an epic set across a period of 60 years beginning at the stroke of the midnight hour when India got her independence. It is a story of ambition, greed, friendship, betrayal, loyalty, family values, love, romance and a lot more. We are venturing into Daily soap territory for the first time with the strong backing of our partners Sony Entertainment Television and we hope Kismat will resonate with a wide audience cutting across age and gender because of its universal appeal."
