According to aMap data, the official broadcaster garners 31% more TRP; time spent increased by 66%.

publive-imageIndian Premier League (IPL) 4 is back with a bang this year on its official broadcaster SET MAX with the live telecast of auction of the players on 8th and 9th January 2011. The live telecast of auction this weekend on Set Max, increased the time spent (Top 6 Metros, CS4+) on the channel by a whopping 66% over the average of last 4 weekends. According to the data released by overnight rating agency aMap, viewers spent an average 25.8 minutes on the channel during the weekends as compared to average time spent of 15.5 minutes in last 4 weekends.

Not only this, the GRPs for Set Max increased by 31% this weekend as compared to the average of last 4 weekends. On aMap's people meter, the channel garnered 3.44 points GRPs on 1st day of auction on Saturday while it increased up to 4.64 on Sunday. The average TRPs during last 4 weekends for the channel are 2.87 and 3.30 on Saturdays and Sundays respectively.

The IPL-4, beginning April 8, will see 10 teams and 74 matches in the shortest version of cricket. Two new entrants to this edition are Kochi and Pune Warriors.

The auction saw 10 owners bidding for 353 players from across the cricketing world, except Pakistan this weekend.
