Dainik Bhaskar Group has yet again come up with an innovative forum on an industry which has larger public interest in the country. The leading Hindi daily organized 'Power Vision Conclave 2011' on Friday, 21st January, 2011 at The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi which was designed to connect both public and private companies in Power sector in India.

Conceptualized and organized by the National Government Vertical team at Dainik Bhaskar Group, the conclave was attended by high level dignitaries including Former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Union Minister of Power Sushil Kumar Shinde, Union Ministor of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh, Minister of Energy of Rajasthan Dr. Jitendra Singh, Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director Jindal Steel and Power, Navin Jindal and Pramod Deo, Chairman, CERC.

Dr. Kalam lit the lamp to start the conclave followed by the welcome address by R C Agarwal, Chairman, Dainik Bhaskar Group and inaugural address by Dr. Kalam. The conclave having 6 different sessions of interactions among panelists started at 9.30 am and continued till 7 pm.

Commenting on the concept behind the conclave, Girish Agarwal, Director, Dainik Bhaskar Group said, “It has been the fantastic day and I must say that we have been able to create an independent platform for the power industry. Power industry somehow is one of the fastest growing industries in India and everybody have hopes from the industry but unfortunately there is no platform for the industry. So we thought that can organize a neutral platform for the industry.”

Overwhelmed with the successful completion of the conclave, Agarwal told BestMediaInfo.com, “We are very happy with the kind of response we have got. Jaideep Dhagat, Senior General Manager and Business Head, National Government Vertical and his team have been really working hard on this. Jaideep thought about the Advisory board to frame the topics for the conclave like we had ICP Keshari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, Dr Ajay Dua, Chairman, Areva T&D and Former Secretary, DIPP, Uddesh Kohli, Former CMD, PFC, Dr. U.D. Choubey, Former CMD, Gail and Director General of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) who had come up with the whole day agenda for the conclave. We are thankful to the whole industry for supporting the conclave and making it a huge success.”

Dainik Bhaskar Group has also its presence in the Power sector with DB Power Ltd. When asked that if the conclave has been a double whammy for Dainik Bhaskar Group, Agarwal comments, “Not exactly but yes also. Since we are also the part of the industry and this forum has raised the common issues that are beneficial for us also. Even Sushil Kumar Shinde said that when a newspaper creates such platform, it becomes a neutral platform. For an example, he was candid enough to talk about NTPC hydro project which was shut down. This kind of feeling could not be expressed in any forum organized by NTPC or Government. These neutral forums make people more candid rather than diplomatic.”

Adding further, Jaideep Dhagat, Senior General Manager and Business Head, National Government Vertical, Dainik Bhaskar Group said, “Entire National Government Vertical team worked very hard and specially the role of Abhijeet Godbole, Project Head, Manisha Mishra, Meenakshi Thakur and Ruchika Uniyal has been exceptional. Whereas on the conclave side, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the star attraction of the day. He came up with a lot of ideas. The beauty of the conclave lies in its topics of discussions which were the result of the mind boggling agenda meeting of advisory board held on 4th January. And so were the fantastic audience present here. The sessions were quite knowledgeable due to which the response by the participants was quite overwhelming.”

“The communication for the conclave was well spread using the all media. All important issues related to the industry were raised and addressed on this platform in one fine day. When Dr Kalam left, he said that he would love to see the complete event detail and we will come up with the blue print of the event and handover it to him. Wait and watch our classic edition on Power industry in February,” concludes elated Dhagat.

The conclave was managed by E18 while IndiaCore was the knowledge partner.
