Divya Bhaskar the largest circulated Gujarati daily from the house of Dainik Bhaskar Group has won 2 more appreciation for its best printing quality and technology.

Divya Bhaskar won “Newspaper Printer of the Year” at the PrintWeek India Quality Awards. This award was judged by a jury panel comprised of 22 high-level corporate and print buyers across the nation including professionals who handle print on a daily basis for companies like Forbes India, Tata Services, Tata AIG, Hindustan Unilever, Parle Agro, Ogilvy & Mather, Nerolac, Laqshya Media, Taproot India, Haymarket Media India, Starcom MediaVest, Orient Longman, Marching Ants, Ergo, Indian Express, Publicis Ambience and more.

PrintWeek awards are an ideal show-case for one of the fastest growing print economies in the world. The Indian print industry is positioned to enter the top print countries in the world. The Indian printing market is $14.1 billion and is expected to grow to $ 20.9 billion by 2011.

Divya Bhaskar is now part of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club (INCQC). It is the only worldwide quality printing competition for newspapers to find the best reproduction and printing quality. The INCQC quality initiative helps ensure that the reader receives an attractive, high-quality product and the advertiser an outstanding advertising carrier. Participants appreciated the support for a better understanding and implementation of the ISO 12647 print standard in their daily production in order to improve the printing process

With the circulation number in India soaring and advertising catching up, quality of printing has become paramount to growth. The judges found some well-executed newspapers that demonstrated excellence, but just like the first edition of PrintWeek India Awards, the judges again selected the Gujarati newspaper, Divya Bhaskar for the coveted Award for its excellent design, layout and print quality.

One of the judge said “In the cities, customers take print quality for granted, but when you pick a regional newspaper and find the quality outmatching the national dailies, one has to appreciate the quality more.” Equipped with a KBA Prisma, Divya Bhaskar has a print capacity of 2,70,000 copies per hour, fires TechNova’s Viostar plates on a Krause LS Jet 300 and uses Micro Inks. It is also equipped with an Idab Wamac mailroom system.

Adding to this, RD Bhatnagar, CTO, Dainik Bhaskar Group said: "We at Bhaskar has always been in the game of raising the Bar - Be it distinct and "Just in Time" information for the readers, Be it multi-platform delivery of advertisement for maximizing reach for the advertisers or Be it quality of the Newspaper print.”
