Raghu Bhat is Founder Director of Scarecrow Communications. After completing his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Raghu started his career in Berger Paints, as a management trainee. He chucked that to join advertising, because as he reasoned - “any job that lets u come to work in jeans and chappals can't be all that bad.”

Till November 2009, Raghu was working as Senior Vice President & Executive Creative Director in Contract Advertising India. Before Contract, he worked in O & M (Delhi, Mumbai & Malaysia), Ambience Publicis and McCann Erickson.

He has handled brands like Tata Indicom, Aegon Religare, Cadbury, Asian Paints, HSBC, Dabur Vatika, Liril, Essar Mobile store, Nerolac, Hanes Undergarments, Wonderbra, Vaseline, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oreal, Marico, UTI and NDTV and many more.

Raghu is deeply interested in soccer, he has also served as soccer correspondent for Manchester-based site, squarefootball.net under the pseudonym 'Daniel Raghu'. (After Daniel Amokachi, his favorite African footballer). His short films, 'Waif'' and 'Apollo Bunder' has won awards at the Barcelona, Chicago and Paris Short Film Festival and earned him an entry into imdb- the world's largest motion picture and short film portal.

Raghu is deeply interested in design, web technologies and search engine optimisation. His twin interests in brand and the web has led him to create Fungus Designs- an E-commerce site that collaborates with avant garde graphic designers from Buenos Aires, Paris, Australia and Colombia and manufactures a premium range of design.

Qashish Chopra of BestMediaInfo.com spoke to him on dope other than advertising.

Q) What is your current state of mind?

A state of high alert..like a Man U defender on the lookout for Drogba...or a Qaeda bomber in the stands!

Q) Your poison?

Freshly crushed walnut juice.

Q) Who are the three people you would invite for dinner and drinks if it were your last?

I would like to have my last dinner alone. So I'd invite people who might find it hard to turn up. Guys like Heath Ledger, Janis Joplin and YSL.

Q) Name the one animal you think you resemble.

John Weider - lead guitarist of the 'Animals'.

Q) One thing you never leave home without?

My left shoe. And in some cases, my right shoe.

Q) What would you do if you were invisible for a day?

I would go to the Peshawar arms bazaar and learn how to get the best price for an ICBM.

Q) One song you love to hate?

"Chori Chori yun aankhen char ho jati hai.."- Bappida's tribute to a song that didn't deserve a tribute- Walk like an Egyptian. The only saving grace, it was lovingly picturised on Sunny Deol and a petite Paintal.

Q) The last thing you do before going to bed?

Do the Suryanamaskar, if I have had a very late night!
