Spends Rs.200 crore to acquire 30 films, both blockbusters that have been released and upcoming big budget movies.

After getting the gorgeous superstar, Priyanka Chopra to entertain you with her daredevil acts as the host of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi x 3 and after bringing you the most wanted Bollywood television host of our times, Salman Khan to host Bigg Boss Season 4; COLORS, has now acquired the lion's share of the biggest blockbuster movies Akshay Kumar starrer Tees Maar Khan, Hrithik & Aishwarya’s Guzaarish, Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 3 including the latest hits - Aisha starring Sonam Kapoor, Ajay Devgn’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and the much-awaited Salman Khan starrer, Dabangg and many more for their viewers. COLORS gets high on Bollywood and has acquired 30 films both blockbusters that have been released and some that are still in the post production stage and will telecast the same through 2010 and 2011.
Although, COLORS did not reveal the money spent to acquire these movies, it is believed that the channel has paid Rs.200 crore against the telecast rights of these movies.
Commenting on this, Gaurav Gandhi, Head of International Business & CCO Viacom 18 Group, said, "At COLORS, we pioneered the concept of reducing the gap between the theatrical release and TV telecast with Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani & Blue that were premiered on the channel within 30-45 days of them hitting the movie screens. In keeping with the same trend to offer the best and the latest Bollywood offerings to our viewers, we have acquired the rights to the most exciting and the biggest films lined up for 2010-2011 release. The upcoming months are surely going to be a treat for our viewers”.
Some of the films that COLORS has lined up for their viewers include films from big banners such as Reliance Big Films, UTV, PVR, Balaji and many more. The list of films includes movies by noted directors such as Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohan Sippy, Ashutosh Gowariker and Farah Khan amongst others. Viewers will get to view films like Vishal Bharadwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf which stars the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood hottie John Abraham and the very talented Irrfan Khan. Also in the offering is Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer Guzaarish, Abhishek-Deepika starrer Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Akshay-Katrina starrer Thank You and Rani-Vidya starrer No One Killed Jessica.
Along with the big budget multi-starrer, mega productions, COLORS has also acquired rights for smaller budget films with great story lines by renowned and upcoming directors. The list includes films like Udaan, Tum Mile, Lamha, Paan Singh Tomar, Mad Madder Maddest, PhilumCity and more
Amongst the films lined up, COLORS has already screened Box Office hits like Hrithik Roshan's Spanish-American rhapsody Kites and Mani Ratnam's passionate endeavour starring Abhishek and Aishwarya, Raavan. The channel will be screening the following films in the weekends to come:
