Big Productions Beefs Up Creative Team

Appoints Jayesh Patil and Bimal Unnikrishnan as Head of Fiction and Non Fiction respectively.

BIG Productions, the TV content creation division of Reliance BIG Entertainment has appointed two top creative masterminds from the Indian industry - Jayesh Patil and Bimal Unnikrishnan as Head of Fiction and Non Fiction respectively. In their new roles, Jayesh and Bimal will be responsible for their respective functions and will report into Sarvanan P, Business Head, BIG Productions.

With over 16 years of rich creative work spanning writing and creative direction of Hindi fiction shows, Jayesh has to his credit over 4500 of television episodes that he has penned. His work experience has seen him play independent writer and content consultant for renowned production houses like Creative Eye, Playtime Creations, Neela Telefilms, BAG Films, Optimistix, Hats Off, Cinevistas and UTV. To his credit are some of the top rating shows of Hindi television ranging, Kehta Hai Dil, Saarathi, Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Jeevan Saathi, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Ladies Special and many more. He is the man behind the highest rated afternoon show in the history of Indian Television Kumkum, which peaked at 13.6 TVR's.

Being one of the few writers in India to successfully write shows across genres, Jayesh will be responsible for developing ideas, conceptualization, story development, script supervision and creative direction as he leads the team at BIG Productions in all its fiction initiatives.

Bimal began his career 15 years ago as a trainee director with Zee Television back in 1995. He grew quickly to Editor-Director with Cinema Vision India and Powercut International before he joined Media Studio in the capacity of creative director. He has been instrumental in creating the first season of Dance India Dance Li'l Masters and supervising creative director for 2 seasons of Dance India Dance which went on to win the Indian Telly Awards for the best dance show in 2009 and the Gold Awards for the best non-ficton show in 2010. Another show he worked on, Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi bagged an ITA for best direction in 2008.

His work experience pans leading production houses ranging Miditech, UTV Television and The Right Picture as a Senior Creative Director. Armed with some of the best experience, in his new role, Bimal will be responsible for developing ideas, conceptualization, format development, script supervision, creative direction and more, leading the team to newer heights of creative output.
