Dainik Bhaskar & DNA Announce India Pride Awards 2010

The thought process of Dainik Bhaskar Group's National Government Vertical to recognize the excellence of PSUs enters into 2nd year.

After first successful edition of India Pride Awards last year, Dainik Bhaskar and DNA are ready to organize the second edition of India Pride Awards 2010, which is a tribute to the contributions made and excellence determined by the PSUs for building our country on.

The award ceremony will take place on 13th September, 2010 in New Delhi and Pranab Mukherjee, Minister of Finance will be chief guest at the occasion.

The entire concept of organizing India Pride Awards to recognize the excellence of PSUs is the thought process of National Government Vertical of Dainik Bhaskar Group.

When contacted by BestMediaInfo.com Jaideep Dhagat, Senior General Manager and Business Head, National Government Vertical, Dainik Bhaskar Group said, “Last year India Pride Awards were only for central PSUs, this year we have also included state PSUs. We expect at least 100 PSUs participating which is a damn good number. The number of awards category is also set to increase with the addition of state PSUs this year.”

Dhagat added further, “The entry forms has already been dispatched and uploaded on our group's websites. We will accept the entry form by 20th August while Jury will meet  on 26th August 2010. The 6 member jury panel will be chaired by Dr Narendra Jadhav, Member Planning Commission. The other members in the jury panels are Sarthak Behuria, Ex-CMD, Indian Oil and Advisor, Petronet LNG; Dr U.D. Choubey Former CMD, Gail and Director General of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE); Sanjay Pugalia, Editor in Chief, CNBC Awaaz; KU Rao, CEO, DNA and Sanjeev Kotnala, VP, Marcomm, Dainik Bhaskar Group.”

“ICRA, one of the finest credit rating agencies, will evaluate the process under the specified judgment criteria which includes business results of the company, leadership policy and strategy, customer value management, operations management, human resource developments and employee contribution, new product development and quality management, environment management, systems and studies, corporate social responsibility, corporate image and corporate governance,” says Dhagat.

Spanning across categories, last year the awards were presented for consumer industry, financial services, energy and power, heavy industries, metals & minerals & trade, oil & gas as well as transport. Additionally special categories of awards were given to felicitate innovations in the fields like, corporate social responsibility, environment protection and conservation, Indian Image enhancement and creating global brand.

On the innovations in government category, Dhagat said, “In 2008 Dainik Bhaskar started doing innovation in government vertical. Since that time we have done various supplements on government PSUs and ministries, one of them is recently done 'Steel Supplement' on 31st July, 2010 in Dainik Bhaskar – all editions and Divya Bhaskar – all editions. We have awards ceremony for PSU and very soon we are also launching coffee table book on glorious 50 years of Indian PSUs.”

Speaking on the promotion of the awards, Dhagat said, “Last year India Pride Awards caught lot of media attention. By 10th August, there will be a full fledged media campaign in all our properties including Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaaskar, DNA, Business Bhaskar and MY FM plus we'll also use other mediums. We are also looking aggressively at outdoor media campaign.”

The presenting sponsor of India Pride Awards 2010 is S. Kumars Nationwide Limited while principal associate sponsor is Adani Group and associate sponsor is Videocon. The television partner for the award is CNBC Awaaz.
