X unveils 2024 marketing calendar; highlights 'X Featured' moments for making brands relevant

X (formerly Twitter) which aims to become an ‘Everything App’ going forward, under Elon Musk’s leadership, has rolled out an annual marketing calendar which mentions the world’s ‘most powerful moments and movements’ to assist marketers in campaign planning.

The 2024 marketing calendar unveiled on X Business has also highlighted some of the ‘X Featured’ moments which get ‘X buzzing’ and at the same time make brands ‘relevant’, country-wise.

This centralised yet interactive overview of the key moment marketing dates, including that of India, comes in the aftermath of X’s push on all things advertising.

To make it a viable platform for advertisers, X in the recent past has been asking creators to come aboard and post their videos on the platform so that advertisers can also place their ads therein.

In January 2024, X also brought in a new toggle feature on X Premium which allowed advertisers to target ‘Premium Subscribers’ specifically for their campaigns by check marking the box in the ad creation window whilst including custom audiences and the look-alikes for targeted ad campaigns.

Kickstarting the year, X had also come up with a detailed post highlighting its focus areas for the year wherein it mentioned its commitment to advancing search capabilities, enhancing ad quality, cultivating an understanding of customers, and pursuing various innovative initiatives.

On the contrary, some time back in November 2023, the billionaire who acquired Twitter for $44 billion and rebranded it to X, Musk, had told advertisers who halted their ad spends allocation on X due to ‘antisemitic’ and other ‘hateful material’ to “Go F*** yourself”, especially calling out Walt Disney’s CEO Bob Iger, if they’re going to ‘blackmail’ him with money or advertising on his own platform.
