Harsh Shah becomes Managing Partner at VML India

After being associated with Wunderman Thompson as Chief Digital Officer for a year, Harsh Shah has now assumed the role of Managing Partner at WPP’s newly rechristened agency- VML India.

This comes a week after the much awaited India leadership of the merged entities- Wunderman Thompson and VMLY&R had been announced at the agency’s townhall. At the same, Babita Baruah was named Chief Executive Officer and Saurabh Saksena as President of VML India.

Prior to joining Wunderman Thompson as CDO in January 2023, Shah was the President- West at Dentsu Creative for nearly six months. However, his association with Dentsu goes back even further, as he spent nearly five-and-a-half years at Dentsu Webchutney before the network announced the consolidation of its creative arm.

At Dentsu Webchutney he served across various roles such as Managing Partner for six months starting March 2022, EVP- Business (North and West) for nine months starting July 2021, SVP and Business Head- West for over a year starting June 2020, SVP Client Services for over two years starting June 2018 and VP from March 2017 to June 2018.

Prior to that, he was with Reliance Broadcast Network for one and a half years starting September 2016, first as Senior Manager- Digital Marketing and later as Network Digital Lead.

Before that, he was the Chief Manager- Digital Marketing at Abbott Healthcare for six months.

In his earlier stint with Webchutney, Shah served as Account Director for two and a half years starting December 2010 and was later elevated to Client Services Director.

Before joining the adworld, he was a Software Engineer at Atos Origin for two and a half years.
