GEC Watch: Zee Anmol tops U+R market, Star Plus takes over Urban

While Colors descended to No. 10 position in Week 39 of 2018 in R-market, Naagin 3 is still a topper in U-market

GEC Watch: Zee Anmol tops U+R market, Star Plus takes over Urban

According to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India viewership impressions, Zee Anmol is thriving well in both Rural and Urban+Rural markets. While Sony Entertainment Television grabbed the No. 2 position in GEC Urban with 445.792 million Impressions, none of its shows could find a position in the same market. Kumkum Bhagya of Zee Anmol is outshining the Rural market with its No. 1 position with 10.620 million Impressions.

In Week 39 (September 22-28) of 2018, many shows remain somehow at the same position with a tad bit of changes in the number of the viewership’s Impressions. Naagin 3, Kumkum Bhagya (both of Zee TV and Zee Anmol), Kundali Bhagya, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai remain the top charters in the mixed market.

Top channels in U+R markets

BARC India data for Week 38 of 2018 (September 15-21) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals shows Zee Anmol retained the same No. 1 position in Urban+Rural market with 775.521 million Impressions (last week  861.115 million). Star Utsav also maintained the same No. 2 position but lost out on a few numbers 730.938 million (last week 702.196 million) Impressions. Star Plus took away the No.3 position from Colors with 674.836 million impressions (last week 695.563 million). No. 4 was Star Bharat, swinging three positions up with 652.806 million Impressions (last week 567.817 million) Impressions. Sony Pal came three positions up to No. 5 from last week’s No. 3 with 645.457 million Impressions (last week 536.054 million). Colors dropped to No. 6 position with 634.604 million Impressions (last week 634.604 million Impressions).

Zee TV dropped by three spots to attain the No. 7 position with 613.238 million Impressions (last week 695.563 million Impressions). Sony Entertainment Television dropped by two positions to hook the No. 8 position with 594.293 million Impressions (last week 602.756 million). Sony Sab and Rishtey swapped each other’s respective positions of last week. Sony Sab was at No. 9 position with 456.625 million Impressions (last week 436.191million Impressions) and Rishtey at No. 10 position with 449.926 million Impressions (last week  454.365 million  Impressions).

Top shows in U+R markets

With a slight decrease in the number of impressions, Colors’  Naagin 3 remained at the No. 1 position, becoming the most-viewed TV programme in Week 39 of 2018, with 14.487 million Impressions (last week 15.402 million Impressions). Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya remained at the same No. 2 position but lost numbers with 12.700 million Impressions this week over last week’s 13.387 million Impressions. Kundali Bhagya of Zee TV gained one position up securing No. 3 with 12.092 million Impressions (last week 10.194 million Impressions). Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlaata Hai grabbed No. 4 securing 11.342 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya remained at the No. 5 position, garnering 10.714 million Impressions (last week 9.598 million Impressions).

Top channels in urban markets

Star Plus has replaced Colors, garnering No. 1 position of Week 39 in the urban markets with 461.929 million Impressions (last week 427.416 million Impressions). Sony Entertainment Television gained No. 2 with 445.792 million Impressions (last week 427.364 million impressions). Colors dropped to No. 3 position from No.1 with 445.474 million impressions (last week 474.372 million Impressions). Zee TV remained at the same No. 4 position with 377.869 million Impressions (last week 378.381 million Impressions). Sony Sab with 336.108 million Impressions (last week 326.981 million Impressions) maintained itself at No. 5 position. Star Bharat was at No.6 position with 313.321 million Impressions (last week 282.178 million Impressions). At No. 7 position was Star Utsav with 220.367 million Impressions (last week 209.016 million Impressions) followed by Sony Pal at No.8 with 188.659 million Impressions (last week 158.099 million Impressions). Zee Anmol dropped one spot with 149.286 million Impressions to No.9. Like the last week, &TV remained at the No. 10 position with 134.300 million Impressions (last week 112.279 million Impressions).

 

Top programmes in urban markets   

Naagin 3 of Colors at No.1 position remained unchanged with 9.474 million Impressions (last week 10.158 million Impressions). StarPlus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai becomes the second most-watched TV programme with 7.855 million Impressions (last week 6.468 million Impressions) in the urban market. Zee TV’s programme Kundali Bhagya gained the No. 3 position with 7.256 million Impressions. Kulfi Kumar Baajewala of Star Plus introduced itself in the chart at the No. 4 position, registering 6.488 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya dropped to No. 5 position with 6.471 million Impressions (last week 6.065million Impressions).

Top channels in rural markets

Zee Anmol remains unaffected, maintaining the same No. 1 position with 626.235 million Impressions (last week 697.300 million Impressions). Just like last week, Star Utsav is at the No. 2 position in rural with 510.571 million Impressions (last week 493.180 million Impressions) followed by Sony Pal with 456.799 million Impressions (last week 377.955 million Impressions). The No. 4 position was filled by Rishtey with 345.575 million Impressions (last week 344.623 million Impressions). Star Bharat hopped to No. 5 position with 339.485 million Impressions (last week 285.639 million Impressions). Dangal TV recorded 325.235 million Impressions, making it to No. 6 position (last week 315.369 million Impressions). Zee TV at No.7 garnered 235.368 million Impressions (last week 243.942 million). Big Magic clocked 223.175 million Impressions on No. 8 position (last week 240.487 million Impressions), followed by Star Plus at No. 9 with 212.907 million Impressions (last week 192.921million Impressions). Colors dropped to No. 10 position with 189.131 million Impressions (last week 221.191 million Impressions).

Top programmes in rural markets

With a slight change in the number of Impressions, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya remains the most-watched TV programme in rural with 10.620 Impressions (last week 11.213 million Impressions). According to the BARC India, Sony Pal’s Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma grabbed 7.249 million Impressions making it No. 2 (last week 5.341 million Impressions). Mahek of Zee Anmol logged 6.577 million Impressions, scoring No. 3 position (last week 6.393 million Impressions). Star Utsav’s Rabba Ve was down to No. 4 position with 6.272 million Impressions (last week 6.422 million Impressions). Baal Veer of Sony Pal replaced Naagin 3 and made it into the top chart, positioning itself at No. 5 with 5.953 Impressions.
