Shripad Kulkarni, a veteran in the media planning and buying business, will soon join Triton Communications as the President of Media. Sources close to the development confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo. Kulkarni will continue to work with some of the brands as consultant, the sources said.
Till October 2017, Kulkarni was serving as the Managing Director of Vizeum, a DAN agency. After that, he started servicing with brands as an independent consultant.Â
Though Triton Communications is largely a creative agency, it has a considerable number of clients for the media duties. Kulkarni will be heading a team of about 15-20 people at the agency, who are currently working for these accounts.
Kulkarni started his career with Contract as a Media Planner in 1985. He then moved to Ogilvy & Mather in 1990 in the same capacity. Two years later, he co-founded M: Ideas, which was later acquired by Carat Media and Kulkarni took over as the COO, Carat Media. In 2006, he shifted to Percept Media as the CEO. Vizeum happened in 2015, where he stayed for a little over two years.
Kulkarni is a graduate in Statistics and has an MBA.
