GEC Watch: Colors and Zee Anmol lead the urban, rural and U+R charts

Colors continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channels (GEC) in the urban markets in the Week 27 of 2018 (June 30-July 6), while Zee Anmol grabbed the top spots in rural and U+R segments. Sony Entertainment Television has improved its numbers in the urban segment.

Naagin - 3 continues to lead the urban and U+R markets as the most watched show in the week. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya dropped out from the top five shows’ list in the urban market, while the channel’s other property Ishq Subhan Allah entered the list. Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai entered the list, while Kulfi Kumar Bajewala exited. Rest of the top shows remained the same.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 27 of 2018 (June 30-July 6) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol stayed at the top spot in the U+R markets, despite loss in numbers, with 698.822 million (last week 719.829 million) Impressions. Zee TV, stuck to No. 2 with 614.367 million (last week 582.960 million) Impressions. Sony Pal climbed to No. 3 position, clocking 552.330 million (last week 540.331 million) Impressions. Colors, at No. 4 clocked 552.010 million (last week 564.746 million) Impressions. Star Bharat, slipped to No. 5, garnering 545.871 million (last week 565.587 million) Impressions. Star Utsav climbed to the sixth spot garnering 508.738 million (last week 479.691 million) Impressions, followed by Star Plus, slipped to No. 7 with 487.574 million (last week 502.843 million) Impressions. Rishtey that lost viewership at No. 8 position, with 445.400 million (last week 456.356 million) Impressions. Sony SAB continued at No. 9 with 401.353 million (last week 367.955 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stayed at No. 10 by clocking 362.280 million (last week 344.737 million) Impressions.

Top shows in U+R markets 

Colors’ Naagin-3 clocked 14.374 million (last week 14.579 million) Impressions, leading the most watched programmes list in the U+R segment. As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya was at No. 2 that clocked 11.488 million (last week 11.405 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya came in next with 11.066 million (last week 11.873 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya became the fourth most watched show by clocking 9.903 million (last week 11.106 million) Impressions. At No. 5, Colors’ dance reality show Dance Deewane garnered 9.505 million (last week 9.784 million) Impressions.

Top channels in urban markets

Riding on the back of the third season of its most popular franchise Naagin, Colors stayed put at the top spot garnering 387.909 million (last week 388.274 million) Impressions. Zee TV continued to be on the second spot in the urban markets, in the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) ranking, with 376.973 million (last week 354.054 million) Impressions. Star Plus stayed at the No. 3 spot in the urban markets with 343.638 million (last week 351.818 million) Impressions. Sony SAB, at No. 4, that clocked 307.607 million (last week 278.589 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television, climbed to No. 5 spot with 267.800 million (last week 257.894 million) Impressions. At No. 6, Star Bharat garnered 264.543 million (last week 279.306 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Pal stood at No. 7 with 168.886 million (last week 169.971 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Mehak stood next with 7.144 million (last week 6.691 million) Impressions followed by Sony Pal’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that clocked 5.221 million (last week 4.991 million) Impressions. Colors’ Naagin-3 stayed at the fourth spot in the rural markets gathering 4.458 million (last week 4.874 million) Impressions.
