Mathrubhumi Group to launch media school in Kochi

To encourage the future generation to rise to the top of today’s demanding news and media professions, Mathrubhumi is foraying into a new venture, ‘Mathrubhumi Media School’ in Kochi, Kerala.

The media school, with the objective of promoting excellence in the field of media, will infuse broad knowledge, integrity and social commitment. It offers comprehensive courses for an aspiring journalist, with a distinguished faculty dedicated to training the next generation of focused journalists in the state-of-the-art facilities the group has in its media network. Mathrubhumi Media School ensures immersive professional experiences throughout its curriculum.

The year-long programme at Mathrubhumi Media School includes hands-on media exposure, projects and assignments specially focused on experiential learning through field experience, collaboration with leading media houses for training, and a two-month internship with a stipend for meritorious students.

Speaking on this occasion, M V Shreyams Kumar, Joint Managing Director, Mathrubhumi Group, said, “This is a historic milestone for a 94-year-old media company; we wish to help build great leaders, build skills and expertise, which will be a testament of our organisation’s philosophy and belief.”

As a media conglomerate Mathrubhumi has very strong and established relationships with various constituents of the media world like prominent national and regional advertisers, research agencies, the Ministry and government departments, and industry bodies like ASCI, MRUC, INS, IBF and AROI, and with other media companies. The Mathrubhumi Media School is scheduled to open in the month of July 2019.
