GEC Watch: Colors leads urban riding on Naagin 3 and Dance Deewane

Riding on the back of phenomenal debut viewership of the third season of its most popular franchise Naagin and the opening week of its dance reality show Dance Deewane, Colors has grabbed the top spot in the urban markets. Zee Anmol continues to lead the U+R and rural markets in the Week 23 of 2018 (June 2-8).

Colors has improved its numbers significantly to climb up to the second spot in the U+R markets. Sony Pal has increased numbers, while Rishtey has lost significantly. Rest of the channel rankings and viewership are largely the same.

As per select BARC India data for Week 23 of 2018 (June 2-8) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol stayed at the top spot in the U+R markets, despite loss in numbers, with 803.634 million (last week 821.672 million) Impressions. Sony Pal climbed to No. 2, clocking 651.390 million (last week 577.214 million) Impressions. Zee TV, stayed at No. 3, gaining extra viewership standing with 599.049 million (last week 592.858 million) Impressions. Star Bharat, meanwhile, climbed to No. 4 with gain in viewership, garnering 555.751 million (last week 536.573 million) Impressions. Colors climbed up and improved significant viewership clocking 547.437 million (last week 391.757 million) Impressions, at No. 5. Star Utsav held to its sixth spot garnering 520.461 million (last week 490.206 million) Impressions, followed by Rishtey that lost significant viewership slipping from second position to No. 7 position, with a viewership of 506.821 million (last week 665.332 million) Impressions. Star Plus, slipped to No. 8 with 458.688 million (last week 447.354 million) Impressions. Sony SAB continued at No. 9 with 385.499 million (last week 387.189 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stayed at No. 10 by clocking 344.248 million (last week 340.834 million) Impressions.

Top shows in U+R markets 

Repeating its success from the previous two season, Colors’ Naagin-3 clocked 16.545 million Impressions, leading the most watched programmes list in the U+R segment. As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya became the second most watched show by clocking 12.435 million (last week 12.129 million) Impressions, followed by Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya that clocked 12.360 million (last week 11.718 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya came in next with 11.260 million (last week 10.985 million) Impressions. At No. 5, Colors’ dance reality show Dance Deewane garnered 10.891 million Impressions.

Top channels in urban markets

Colors’ Naagin-3 bagged second spot in the rural markets gathering 5.741 million Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Mehak stood next with 5.476 million (last week 5.693 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Pal’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that clocked 5.055 million (last week 4.492 million) Impressions.
