12 metals for India at WAN IFRA Asian Media Awards 2018

Indian publications won 12 metals at the Asian Media Awards 2018 of WAN IFRA. Dainik Jagran and India Today bagged three metals each, at the award ceremony held on April 25. Malayala Manorama won two metals, while The Hindu, HT Media, Living Media and Dainik Bhaskar grabbed one metal each.

The 17th edition of the Asian Media Awards attracted 435 entries from countries all over Asia and the Middle East. 58 media companies from 19 countries participated.

All three winners in the ‘Best in Newspaper Marketing’ category were Indian campaigns. Dainik Jagran, bagged a gold and a silver in the ‘Best in Marketing’ category for its ‘Creating the Newspaper of Day after Tomorrow’ Young Editor (Yuva Sampadak) and ‘957 Pages from a Daughter’s Diary’ campaigns, respectively. Dainik Jagran bagged another gold ‘Best in community service’ category for its campaign against Dowry (Dahej).

India Today Magazine won two metals in Magazine Cover Design category for the designs China’s New Chick and How Colas Lost their Mojo, while it bagged another one in Magazine Infographic Category for its campaign Second Strike Capability.

Malayala Manorama won a metal in the News Photography category for the photograph Flight to Life from the Piercing Claws, while another one for the Photograph Signature to the Sand of Time in the Sport Photography category.

The Hindu bagged the bronze in the Best in Newspaper Marketing category for its campaign The Hindu on Sunday. HT Media grabbed a metal in the News Photography category for its photograph Tears of Loss. Living Media won a metal in the Feature Photography category for the photograph ‘I was Sold at 14 as Sex Slave’. Another metal was won by Dainik Bhaskar in the Best in Community Service category for its campaign Live Positive.
