TV channels line up specials for the day of love

As the world gets set to celebrate the day of love, the television channels are not to be left behind. Right from the English channels, to music, to Hindi movies, every genre has planned a special line-up to woo their audience and keep them glued to the TV set this Valentine’s Day.

Here is a short list of such initiatives:

NDTV Good Times

NDTV Good Times has announced the launch of Band Baajaa Bride with Sabyasachi Season 8. The season premiere of the show will go on air on February 14 at 9pm.

Thirteen brides will be transformed by the designer’s Midas touch, right from her regal lehenga to her intricate heritage jewellery, all designed by Sabyasachi. Style mentor Freishia B and every bride’s best friend Bharat Arora will take the chosen girls through every step of their transformation and ensure they have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Arati Singh, Channel Head, NDTV Good Times, said, “Band Baajaa Bride has become an iconic show. We are very happy that every year the audience looks forward to watching Sabyasachi create magic. And so, the show is back to give dream makeovers to our next 13 trendsetting brides of 2018.”

Romedy Now

The channel is back with the second season of #FurrentinesDay this Valentine's Day. Aimed to create awareness and drive adoption of cats and dogs, #FurrentinesDate, a unique speed dating property, will see furry ones play cupid by bringing together animal lovers celebrate their love for pets and abandoned strays and help them find love in the process.

To be held at Cat Café Studio on February 14, #FurrentinesDate will see 30 Romedy Now fans and viewers (15 girls and 15 boys), with a common love for animals, bond over coffee, conversations and cute cats that are in need of a loving home.

Vivek Srivastava, Executive Vice-President and Head, Entertainment Cluster, Times Network, said, “Love knows no boundaries and Romedy Now promises exactly that. Following the success of #FurrentinesDay’ last year, we wanted to further promote the cause of adoption of animals and conceptualised '#FurrentinesDate', a first-of-its kind initiative, where animals play cupid in bringing together like-minded animal lovers. We are confident that coffee over conversations and cute cats will be another unforgettable experience, as we continue to spread love and laughter to our viewers.”

Additionally, Romedy Now will be showcasing a line-up of romantic movies like Cinderella, Proposal, Definitely Maybe, Love Actually that will be aired all day long.

Comedy Central

The channel is launching season 4 of ‘Younger’, a series based on Pamela Redmond Satran’s novel where Liza Miller, a 40-year-old single mother pretends to be younger than she actually is with the intention to find a job in her desired field of work, only on Comedy Central. The show starts at 10am.

Colors Infinity

Colors Infinity brings to you The Bachelor S21 featuring Nick Viall, who has always been a contestant, but never the Bachelor, until now! 30 women will fight for the two-time ‘The Bachelorette’ finalist and ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ fan-favourite's love. This is to be aired at 9pm. The third edition of Bachelor in Paradise is based in the exotic location of Sayulita, Mexico. The show explores the different kinds of relationships between former The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants: fan-favourites and controversy laden ones as they try to leave their wounded hearts behind and take another shot at finding love in paradise. It starts 9am onwards.

MTV Beats

MTV Beats through a series of specially curated shows under the concept of Month of love brings Sanam band. A band that is recognised for cover renditions and originals that are often hinged on love will be ushering the month of February on MTV Beats through a series of specially curated shows under the concept of MTV Beats Spotlight. The show Dil Beats is all about love, romance and everything mush. It will air every Wednesday at 10am, 4pm and 8pm. Another show, Love Shots, is about one-minute short love stories that will be narrated by the Sanam Band and will be telecast every Wednesday.

VH1

Vh1 brings Lovepalooza, a Valentine’s Day Special, only on February 14, at 12 noon. This will bring to the audience a day filled with music for every expression of love.

Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon is announcing its campaign “Dress to Impress” where kids are empowered to select the most impressive outfit for their favourite toons, “Motu and Patlu”.

The campaign aims to encourage the audience to dress Motu Patlu using GIFs. In the GIF, a series of outfits will appear and the kids get a chance to choose the best look for their favourite toons. The two lucky winners will get an opportunity to appear to feature on the Facebook audience pool and be the lucky winner.

MTV

HP and MTV have planned a special evening for you and your loved ones. This Valentine’s Day, sit back, relax, fill your popcorn tubs and enjoy a movie marathon by budding talents tonight at 8 pm on MTV.

HP and MTV came together to create a beautiful collaborative platform ‘Fame-istan’, that would provide Young Millennials a lifetime opportunity to showcase their talent and be mentored by Bollywood’s best #ReinventMyStory. The fact that all these films got created and edited on HP Laptops is a testimony to the technological prowess and power of the HP machines. HP MTV Fame-istan will feature three movies made by aspiring filmmakers of the country and mentored by talent powerhouses of the Indian film industry, Mohit Suri, Radhika Apte and Homi Adajania.

&pictures HD and Zee Classic

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, &pictures HD and Zee Classic have a very special programming line-up featuring some of the best romantic films to celebrate the day. &pictures HD will be telecasting some of the recent flicks like Half Girlfriend, Sanam Teri Kasam, Anjaana Anjaani, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Bareilly Ki Barfi.

On the other hand, Zee Classic is bringing a platter of classic romantic films that include titles like Bobby, Prem Kahani, Prem Granth, Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hero.
