GEC Watch: Zee Anmol breaks viewership records; Colors comes to No. 2 in U+R

Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is back in the list in the urban markets, also Colors’ Mahakali is also in the list again. Jamai Raja on Zee Anmol entered the U+R market list

Zee Anmol has broken the viewership records while Colors climbed to No. 2 spot by displacing Zee TV, though the gap between the two channels’ viewership is mere one million in the combined U+R markets, as per the viewership data of Week 34 (August 19-25). As per BARC India data, the rankings of the channels in the urban and rural flocks didn’t change much, though the shows have shuffled.

Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is back in the list in the urban markets, also Colors’ Mahakali is also in the list again. Jamai Raja on Zee Anmol entered the U+R market list.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 34 (August 19-25) of 2017 for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol remained on the top position in the combined markets by garnering 815.471 million Impressions. Colors climbed up to be at No. 2 position with 618.223 million Impressions. Zee TV slipped to No. 3 to garner 617.260 million Impressions, with a gap of mere one million from Colors. Star Plus remained at No. 4 with 598.506 million Impressions. Rishtey climbed to No. 5 with 520.553 million Impressions, followed by Sony Pal garnering 507.753 million Impressions, to stand at No. 6. Sony SAB stayed at No. 7 with 390.017 million Impressions, while Sony Entertainment Television garnered 383.176 million Impressions, at No. 8. Star Utsav and Life OK continued to trail at No. 9 and 10 with 331.097 million Impressions and 328.571 million Impressions, respectively.

Top shows in U+R markets

As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya topped the flock with 10.486 million Impressions. Colors’ Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi stayed at No. 2 clocking 10.359 million Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Jamai Raja came in at No. 3 by clocking 9.927 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs got 9.699 million Impressions, at No. 4, while the channel’s spin off fiction Kundali Bhagya slipped to No. 5 in the top shows’ list in the combined markets with 9.691 million Impressions.

Top channels in Urban markets

Colors stayed put at No. 1 by garnering 413.873 million Impressions, with a gap of merely two million Impressions from Star Plus which remained at the second spot garnering 411.251 million Impressions. Zee TV stayed at No. 3 position with 370.390 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television climbed to No. 4 with 277.671 million Impressions, followed by Sony SAB that too stayed at No. 5 with 270.886 million Impressions. Life OK stood at No. 6 with 213.162 million Impressions. Zee Anmol climbed to the No. 7 spot with 170.975 million Impressions. &TV and Sony Pal came in next at No. 8 and 9 with 166.519 million Impressions and 150.801 million Impressions, respectively. Rishtey trailed at No. 10 with 130.780 million Impressions.

Top programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800-2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Colors’ Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi climbed on top with 7.213 million Impressions, followed by Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs went to No. 2 in Week 33 with 7.060 million Impressions. At No. 3, Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah clocked 5.943 million Impressions. Zee TV’s spin off fiction Kundali Bhagya and the original show Kumkum Bhagya ranked No. 4 and 5 gathering 5.854 million Impressions and 5.827.

Top channels in Rural markets

Zee Anmol held on to the top spot with 644.496 million Impressions, while Rishtey climbed on to No. 2 in rural markets with 389.772 million Impressions. Sony Pal slipped to No. 3 garnering 356.952 million Impressions. Star Utsav climbed to No. 4 with 255.900 million Impressions. Zee TV slipped to No. 5 with 246.870 million Impressions. Colors climbed by a spot to reach No. 6 with 204.350 million Impressions. Star Plus climbed to No. 7 with 187.255 million Impressions. Big Magic, DD National and Sony SAB trailed at No. 8, 9 and No. 10 with 176.799 million Impressions, 138.549 million Impressions and 119.131 million Impressions.

Top programmes in Rural markets

Zee Anmol’s Jamai Raja remained the most watched show in the rural markets with 7.930 million Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Kaala Teeka came in second with 7.255 million Impressions. Sony Pal’s Baalveer and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah stood next, garnering 5.093 million Impressions and 4.703 million Impressions, respectively. Rishtey’s Kasam was listed last with 4.562 million Impressions, respectively.
