New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards, honouring the world’s best radio programmes, announced this year’s award-winning programmes at the annual Radio Awards gala last week at New York City’s Manhattan Penthouse.
India won nine metals (one Gold, four Silver and four Bronze) and bagged 22 finalist certificates.
Radio Mirchi bagged a Gold Radio for ‘Five years of Nirbhaya,’under the Public Service Announcement Promotion category. The player also bagged a Bronze Radio for ‘Ha ja ba ra la’ under the Best Audio Book Fiction category. It won three finalist certificates for ‘Mone achhe tor’ under the Best Innovation category, ‘Hi Kolkata - telephone talk,’ under the Best Two Way Telephone Talk/Interview Show category and the last one for ‘Help Dorris’ under the Best Human Interest Story category.
Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) won two Silver Radio and seven finalist certificates. Brand RBNL won a Silver Radio for B-100-Program ID Entry 1-Monsoon song under the Program ID category. RBNL’s 92.7 Big FM bagged a Silver for NYF Awards category B104- Station Id Ganesha under the Station ID category. Brand RBNL bagged a finalist each for ‘Suhaana safar with Annu Kapoor’ in the Best Announcer Presentation category and ‘Actor calling Actor,’ under the Best Comedy Special category. RBNL’s Benadryl bagged a finalist certificate under the Best Music Special category. RBNL’s 92.7 Big FM bagged a finalist each for NYF Awards category B23 - Paani pohochao under The Climate Change And Sustainability category, NYF Awards category B63 - RJ Siddharth under the Best Radio Personality: Local Market category and NYF Awards category B104 - Jagmag Diwali under the Station ID category. Brand RBNL bagged another finalist certificate for ‘Lamhe with Mantra,’ under the Best Radio Personality: Network/Syndicated.
DB Corp’s 94.3 My FM bagged a Bronze Radio for their campaign ‘Anti-corruption day,’ under the Public Service Announcement Promotion. The company bagged three finalist certificates. My FM’s ‘Ek rakhi Fauji ke naam,’ and ‘Jaye to jayein kahan’ bagged a finalist certificate each under the Best Public Affairs Programme category. ‘Silver jubilee’ too won a finalist certificate under Best Regularly Scheduled Music Programme category.
Digital Radio Broadcasting’s Red FM bagged a finalist certificate for ‘Morning No. 1 with Raunac,’ programme in the Best Information/News Talk Show category.
Kal Radio’s Red FM won two finalist certificates. One for ‘Morning No. 1 - Happy New Year’ in the Best Information/News Talk Show category and the other for ‘RJ Disha Oberoi’ in the Best Radio Personality: Local Market category.
South Asia FM’s Red FM bagged a finalist certificate for ‘Women diaries,’ under the Best Two Way Telephone Talk/Interview Show.
HT Media’s Fever 104 FM bagged a Silver Radio for its ‘Green corridor’ under the Health/Medical category and bagged two finalist certificates. One for ‘Kya woh sach tha,’ in the Best Editing category and the other for ‘Run Satish run – a journey to get back a lost limb,’ show in the Community Service category.
Music Broadcast’s Radio City bagged a Bronze radio for ‘Radio City Candy Class,’ under the Educational category. The network won a finalist certificate for ‘Radio City blockbuster Katha,’ under Best Special Event category and another finalist certificate for ‘Ye hai meri kahaani,’ under the Best Human Interest Story category.
Club FM 94.3 bagged a Silver radio for ‘Note the point,’ under Public Service Announcement Promotion category. Radio Mango 91.9 won a Bronze and finalist certificate in the Public Service Announcement Promotion category for ‘Women’s Day’ and ‘election campaign’ respectively.
