The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has named IPG Mediabrands' full service digital agency, Interactive Avenues (IA), the Best Digital Agency of the Year for the 4th time in a row. The 7th edition of IAMAI's India Digital Awards was part of the 11th India Digital Summit held in New Delhi on February 8-9, 2017.

At the 2017, India Digital Awards, Interactive Avenues won 4 Gold (including the Best Digital Agency of the Year), 1 Silver and 2 Bronze trophies. The agency picked the Gold awards for Reckitt Benckiser's Display Campaign, Johnson & Johnson's Search Marketing Campaign and American Express Email Marketing Campaign. It picked the Silver award for Coca Cola India's Social Media Marketing Campaign. The agency grabbed the 2 Bronze awards for Samsonite Most Innovative Use of Content and Jockey's Search Campaigns.

“Last year when we picked up this trophy for the third time, it seemed liked a momentous occasion in our journey as an agency. But winning this award for the 4th time is really gratifying and reinforces our belief in the kind of work we are doing and the value we are adding to our client's business”, said, Amardeep Singh, CEO, Interactive Avenues.

Earlier on day-2 of IAMAI's 11th India Digital Summit, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder - One97 & Paytm, said, “Payments sector is one of the most regulated sectors. It needs to be democratised. If ever there was a time to do online business in India, now is the time. In January this, Paytm witnessed transactions of Rs. 5000 crore. Such is the scope of fintechs today.” He further added, “Paytm is witnessing 8.5 million transactions everyday, whereas combined debit and credit card transactions is at 10 million.” He further added that soon Paytm will be giving money to merchants for transacting on the platform.

In an earlier session, Sanjay Sethi, CEO - Shopclues, said, “Growth of internet economy depends how fast online companies can reach rural India and not focus on the metros.”

Speaking about level playing field, Kavin Bharti Mittal, Founder & CEO - Hike Messenger, said, “Homegrown startups doesn't need protection. What we need is a level playing field.” He added, “It is imperative for startups in the online space to have a great product because that is one thing which will sustain the startup.” Speaking about Hike Messenger, Kavin said, “Every country has 2-3 messenger services. Hike is growing in India within its target audience. We will monetise Hike by 2020.”
