The newspaper group DB Corp Limited (DBCL), home to flagship newspapers Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar, completed 20 years of Dainik Bhaskar’s presence in Rajasthan in December, 2016. To commemorate its 20th anniversary and celebrate the role of its readers and trade partners for contributing to its success, Dainik Bhaskar is hosting the largest inter-agency Rajasthani pagdi tying contest in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
The activity kicked off on February 9 at the offices of Dentsu Aegis Network, Havas, Initiative Media Delhi and Madison Bangalore, with a huge participation from media planners, buyers and agency executives.
About 60 employees from Dentsu Aegis Network participated in the activity and thoroughly enjoyed the hour-long activity, as it was a stress-buster for them. Media executives also played on the spot games and participated in quiz and won some vouchers too. Agency folks were seen taking selfies with their pagdis and props in the selfie booth. Delicious Rajasthani pyaaz kachori and laddoos were enjoyed by all.[caption id="attachment_62763" align="alignleft" width="150"] Gaurav Soi[/caption]
Gaurav Soi, EVP, Dentsu Webchutney, said, “Great initiative by Dainik Bhaskar. Celebrating 20 years in Rajasthan across agencies, one such being Dentsu Webchutney where the entire office was made to wear padgis. It is good 20 minutes of relieving stress, so keep it up. Hope we see you with many such initiatives to relieve stress in our daily lives.”
Sivaram Subramaniam, Copy Supervisor, Dentsu Webchutney, said, “I think it’s a great initiative to promote Dainik Bhaskar which has a great presence in Rajasthan and a way to promote Rajasthan too. I liked the fact where all of us were made to wear pagdis and the sweets were delicious. I really loved the glimpse of Rajasthani culture, very different from the mundane mechanised life that Bombay gives you.”
Abir Banerjee, Associate Account Director, Dentsu Webchutney, said, “It was a fun activity. We initially got into it because of the ‘kachori.’ This is a very interesting thing that Dainik Bhaskar has done. It’s good that they completed 20 years, hoping that there are a lot more to come.”[caption id="attachment_43074" align="alignleft" width="150"] Kaacon Sethi[/caption]
Commenting on the occasion, Kaacon Sethi, Chief Corporate Marketing Officer, DB Corp, said, “Dainik Bhaskar’s glorious 20 years in Rajasthan has been the most wonderful experience since it holds great historic significance for the Group. It has been the most exciting two decades that witnessed both the state’s growth as well as ours. As the state developed significantly in terms of infrastructure, economy, affluence, education, IT sector and jobs, Dainik Bhaskar has also come a long way in strengthening its presence in Rajasthan. Today it is an indispensable part of our readers’ lives and therefore in media plans. We take the opportunity to thank our readers and all our business associates who have played an integral role in our success and growth in Rajasthan. We remain committed to work even harder to fulfil our responsibility as the leading news provider in the state, as active enablers of socio-economic change in the region and an effective medium for advertisers to reach their audiences in a trusted environment. ”
