Week 47 (November 19-25) of BARC data saw an interesting trend. While Colors continued to lead the flock of Hindi GECs in the Urban and Combine U+R markets, Rural markets saw an interesting twist with Sony Pal climbing to the top spot to become the most watched Hindi GEC.

Sony Pal rose on the back of its fantasy show Balveer which topped the top 5 programmes' list and its longest running show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Meanwhile, Sony Entertainment's Super Dancer exited from the top 5 programmes list in all three segments, while The Kapil Sharma Show still pushed the channel's numbers in the Urban market.

Top Channels in U+R markets

In combined (U+R) markets, Colors retained its lead with 655.190 million Impressions followed by Star Plus with 636.429 million Impressions. Zee TV was at No. 3 with 465.944 Impressions followed by Sony Pal, which climbed to No. 4 with 462.496 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television climbed to No.5with 412.004 million Impressions. Zee Anmol at No. 6 clocked 407.025 million Impressions, followed by Star Utsav which got 402.699 million Impressions. Life OK was at No. 8 with 366.264 million Impressions. Sony SAB and Rishtey trailed at No. 9 and 10 with 360.533 million Impressions and 346.771 million Impressions, respectively.

Top Programmes in U+R markets

Colors' Naagin Season 2 topped the list with 14.599 million Impressions followed by Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya which garnered 11.090 million Impressions. Colors' Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki stood at No. 3 with 10.336 million Impressions. Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya stood at No. 4 and 5 with 9.829 million Impressions and 9.642 million Impressions, respectively.

Top Channels in Urban markets

Colors continued to lead in Urban markets as well with 442.445 million Impressions. Star Plus stood at No. 2 with 431.133 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television took the third position with 288.979 million Impressions, followed by Zee TV with 274.263 million Impressions. Sony SAB stood at No. 5 with 265.411 million Impressions. Life OK followed at No. 6 with 232.127 million Impressions while &TV was at No. 7 with 145.141 million Impressions. Sony Pal stood at No. 8 with 113.854 million Impressions. Zee Anmol stood at No. 9 with 99.149 million Impressions. Star Utsav trailed at No. 10 with 96.735 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Colors' Naagin Season 2 led with 9.133 million Impressions, followed by the channel's Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki which clocked 7.255 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television's The Kapil Sharma Show stood at No. 3 garnering 7.037 million Impressions. Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 4 with 6.856 million Impressions, while Star Plus' Yeh Hain Mohabbatein entered the list at the trailing end with 6.476 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural markets

Sony Pal dethroned Zee Anmol to capture the top spot with 348.642 million Impressions, pushing Zee Anmol to No. 2 with 307.877 million Impressions. Star Utsav was at No. 3 with 305.964 million Impressions, followed by Rishtey with 265.868 million Impressions. Colors stood at No. 5 with 212.745 million Impressions. Star Plus stood at No. 6 with 205.296 million Impressions. Zee TV, at No. 7 got 191.681 million Impressions. Life OK climbed to No. 8 spot with 134.137 million Impressions. Big Magic stood at No. 9 with 130.513 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television trailed at No. 10 with 123.025 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Rural markets

As per BARC data, {HSM (Rural): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Sony Pal's Balveer has dethroned Rishtey's Naagin from its top spot to become the most watched show in the rural India with 7.153 million Impressions. Rishtey's Naagin was at No. 2 with 6.234 million Impressions, followed by Colors Naagin Season 2 which stood at No. 3 with 5.465 million Impressions. Sony Pal's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah entered the list at No. 4 with 4.978 million Impressions, followed by Star Utsav's Saath Nibhaana Saathiya at No. 5 with 4.848 million Impressions.
