Amar Ujala shines at 17th Annual Sangeet Mahotsav

With a line-up of finest artists, the debut show signals the beginning of a promising musical journey

Amar Ujala presented the 17th Annual Sangeet Mahotsav in association with Legends of India, launching Amar Ujala Gharana and Parampara. The Mahotsav is an initiative of the Amar Ujala Group to celebrate the spirit of ancient tradition in Indian art forms.

Amar Ujala's Gharana and Parampara reflects the rich cultural heritage of India.

Taking the association forward with Legends of India, the 17th Annual Sangeet Mahotsav was an apt platform to launch the unique initiative. The event was held at Kamani Auditorium which paid tributes to late Pt Shankar Ghosh.

An 'all-drum orchestra' composed by Pt Shankar Ghosh titled 'Music of the Drums' played the inaugural number. It was followed by the thundering beats of tabla by maestro Bikram Ghosh. The audience got an opportunity to enjoy Ustad Rashid Khan in his slow elaboration of Vilambit Khayals accompanied by Tanmoy Bose on the tabla.

With a line-up of the finest artists, Amar Ujala's first show from its Gharana Parampara series signals the beginning of a promising musical journey.
