2016 DMA India Createffect Echo Awards: OgilvyOne, IBS and The Social Street lead metal tally

The DMA India Createffect Echo Awards 2016 were revealed on Tuesday night at the Awards Gala at Blue Frog, Mumbai, celebrating India's most creative and effective data-driven marketing campaigns.

OgilvyOne Worldwide was named as the Agency of the year bagging 25 metals, including three gold and a diamond for Amazon.in's campaign 'Amazon Fashion kya pehnu.'

Ogilvy & Mather was honoured with the Network of the Year 2016 title and also won a bronze for Titan Raga's #BreakTheBias campaign.

Two new special recognitions were added this year -- Small Agency of the year and Brand of the year-- to recognise the joint efforts and close collaboration between clients and small agencies to produce successful work. The awards were presented to Pi Communications and Britannia Good Day respectively. Hindustan Unilever bagged the 'Client of the year' award for the second year in a row with three metals.

SapientNitro won Grand Prix in the Media Effectiveness category for Nestle India's '100 and Running' campaign, while Mindshare India bagged it for Pepsico's 'Google Maps went beyond giving directions' in Creative Effectiveness -- Interactive category. The Diamond Award went to OgilvyOne Worldwide in the Business Effectiveness category for Amazon Fashion-Kya Pehnu campaign.

This year, the notable winners were campaigns from IBS with 40 points, The Social Street with 25 points, PHD with 24 points and SapientNitro with 16 points. The awards gala was attended by over 200 industry leaders, presented a total of 144 citations, including 25 Golds, 45 Silvers, 46 Bronze and 23 Leaders to the shortlisted winners out of 441 registered entries from over 70 agencies and 150 brands.

DMA Createffect Awards has championed Echo as our effectiveness platform since 2011. The work that we witnessed this year is a good indicator that we have great potential at global stage from India, Asia and Mena.”

Rakhshin Patel, Jury Chairperson and MD, Pi Communication, said, “This year, submissions made up the largest collection of India's best data-driven campaigns. Winners were shortlisted after three rounds of rigorous evaluation by the first names in the marketing and advertising business.”

Sumanto Chattopadhyay, ECD, South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather, said, “It is always wonderful to win. But I feel like an impostor, because it is a win for OgilvyOne. It is their hard work that has won this and I don't want to take away their glory. But of course being a part of Ogilvy and the Ogilvy network, I share their glory and I'm really proud of them today.”

Pratap Bose, Managing Director and Chairman, The Social Street, said, “It was our first attempt at the DMAi Echo awards. We are happy with the results. We won about 11 awards, including three gold. Britannia Good Day also won the brand of the year and we are very proud of it.”
