If 'there's something wrong with the AC' this summer, it's possibly not a Blue Star

It is summer and already, a rather warm summer. The advertising space is understandably, hot and happening with new creatives every day on cool summer drinks and cooling air-conditioners. In a commercial, conceptualized by Interface Communications, Blue Star hawks an AC that offers a solution for precision cooling within a home or a workplace.

The television commercial (TVC), though, depicts a home, in which an Indian couple, a bear couple and an Arab couple sit on a settee in a living room, complaining about the air-conditioner. The bear couple say that the room “suddenly gets too cold”. The Arab couple say, “it suddenly gets too hot” and the Indian couple sing, “there is something wrong with the AC…”

The camera turns to the AC, which doesn't cool the room enough, when a voice says, 'Get precision cooling, with Blue Star Inverter Split.' The TVC ends with the Indian couple, feeling neither like bears nor Arabs, but just the way they wish to be, sitting on the couch in their own living room. The couple chant, 'Now it's just perfect.'

Commenting on the campaign, B. Thiagarajan, Executive Director and President, AC and R Products Business, Blue Star, said, “At Blue Star, we plan to leverage our well-established expertise in cooling with the residential audience, by continuing with our differentiated value proposition of 'Nobody Cools Better'. We plan to aggressively promote our star-rated inverter range of Split ACs in this segment since it offers the ideal solution for today's discerning and upwardly mobile customer. The Inverter Split AC goes beyond just 'Power Saving'. It represents 'Perfect Cooling'. The TVC communicates this comprehensiveness of the inverter split in a simple, yet telling manner so as to get the message across to all viewers, including those in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where we have a strong presence.”

Robby Mathew, CCO, Interface Communications, said, “How do you bring alive a problem that people face with their home ACs? You get bears and Arabs to sing!  The film was fun to make. The way it has turned out, it is fun to watch too.”
