Followed by our article Ranking Pay and FTA channels together: It hurts perception of flagship channels, BestMediaInfo.com will present separate rankings for Pay and Free-to-Air (FTA) channels beginning today.

According to the select data shared by BARC India for Week 47 for Hindi general entertainment channels (November 21 to November 27) {HSM : NCCS All : Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R)}, Star Plus strengthened its leadership while Colors widened its lead over Zee TV. Life OK sat at No. 4 despite a drop in its viewership followed by Sony and SAB TV at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

Star Plus grew by 17 TVM and further cemented its leadership position with a gross viewership of 813 TVM (last week 796 TVM).

Colors strengthened its position at No. 2 and widened the gap from Zee TV. The channel had recorded a gross viewership of 714 TVM (last week 709 TVM).

Zee TV was at No. 3 position with a gross viewership of 633 TVM against last week's 648 TVM.

Life OK retained No. 4 position despite losing maximum eyeballs among pay channels this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 458 TVM (last week 478 TVM).

Sony Entertainment Television grew to a gross viewership of 397 TVM against last week's 389 TVM.

SAB TV was at No. 6 position with a gross viewership of 372 TVM (last week 357 TVM).

FTA channels

Zee Anmol added maximum eyeballs and strengthened its leadership position. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 755 TVM (last week 719 TVM).

Star Utsav too strengthened its position at No. 2 with a gross viewership of 544 TVM (last week 519 TVM).

Sony Pal lost maximum eyeballs and dropped to a gross viewership of 316 TVM (last week 360 TVM).

Rishtey was at No. 4 with a gross viewership of 284 TVM (last week 319 TVM).

Top 5 programmes on Hindi GECs

All the top 5 programmes on Hindi general entertainment channels this week were from Pay channels. As per select data (HSM : NCCS All : Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs) : Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' retained the top position with an average viewership of 17 TVM (last week 16.3 TVM).

Colors' 'Naagin' made an impressive entry to the top-5 club claiming No. 2 position. The show fetched an average viewership of 16.7 TVM.

'Kumkum Bhagya' on Zee TV slipped to third position with a viewership of 14 TVM (last week 15.9 TVM).

Star Plus' show 'Ye Hai Mohabattein' slipped one position to No. 4 with a viewership of 13.4 TVM (last week 13.2 TVM).

Colors' 'Sasural Simar Ka' was at No. 5 with an average viewership of 12.8 TVM (last week 11.8 TVM).
