The highlight of Week 48 of BARC ratings was Colors' latest weekend fiction show 'Naagin' as the show created a new record after inclusion of rural data into All India data. With Naagin claiming the top slot, Colors narrowed the margin with No. 1 channel Star Plus. Incidentally, Star Plus was the only Hindi GEC to lose eyeballs this week.

According to select data shared by BARC India for Week 48 for Hindi general entertainment channels (November 28 to December 4) {HSM : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Ratings (000s)}, Star Plus stayed at the top despite losing some eyeballs this week while Colors narrowed the gap from Star Plus. Zee TV, Life OK, Sony and SAB TV also added eyeballs this week and retained their positions.

Star Plus retained its leadership with a gross viewership of 796378 (last week 813084).

Colors strengthened its position at No. 2 with the help of its weekend fiction show 'Naagin' that topped the ratings chart this week. The channel had recorded a gross viewership of 763601 (last week 713600).

Zee TV was at No. 3 position with a gross viewership of 677344 against last week's 632511 TVM.

Life OK added maximum viewership this week and strengthened its position at No. 4. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 516234 (last week 457560).

Sony Entertainment Television grew further to a gross viewership of 412016 against last week's 396968.

SAB TV was at No. 6 position with a gross viewership of 396853 (last week 372333).

FTA channels

Zee Anmol retained its leadership position with a gross viewership of 756154 (last week 754786).

Star Utsav too strengthened its position at No. 2 with a gross viewership of 561813 (last week 544176).

Sony Pal added maximum eyeballs among FTA channels and rose to a gross viewership of 366535 (last week 315559).

Rishtey was at No. 4 with a gross viewership of 305368 (last week 284013).

Top 5 programmes on Hindi GECs

Top 5 programmes on Hindi general entertainment channels saw a new leader this week as Colors' Naagin took the top slot and set a new ratings record. The show recorded a viewership of 19576.

As per select data (HSM : NCCS All : Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs) : Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' slipped at No. 2 with an average viewership of 17293.

'Kumkum Bhagya' on Zee TV was at third position with a viewership of 13825.

Colors' second show in the top 5 was 'Sasural Simar Ka' that fetched an average viewership of 13466.

Zee Anmol's 'Ek Se Bhale Do' returned to the top-5 club with an average viewership of 12712.
