To commemorate the arrival of British Airways' brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner launching on the Delhi to London route, the airline launched a special contest called #wingstoadream to invite the grandchildren of India and their grandparents to win a trip to London, flying British Airways' latest addition to the fleet.

The airline has now launched a short film capturing some of the happy moments of the winning families. The film tells the story of two of the winning grandchildren among others, who surprised their grandparents with the gift of travel by British Airways. These winners showcased their true emotions by bringing cheer to their grandparents, created new memories and reminisced good, old times with them. With this contest, British Airways hopes to give yet another chance to strengthen family bonds and create everlasting memories of enjoying London with British Airways.

“At SapientNitro, we decided to elevate the spirit of family ties a notch higher with our belief that a story lived is better than a story told.  We conceptualised an engaging campaign #wingstodream with the idea of letting grandparents and grandchildren live their story thereby inspiring millions to have their very own,” said KV Sridhar, Chief Creative Officer, SapientNitro, India.

British Airways spokesperson Moran Birger, British Airways' Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia, said, “We are pleased to launch the #wingstoadream short film that celebrates true Indian family bonds. Our film focuses on spending quality time with grandparents and creating new memories that would last a lifetime, whilst discovering a new place and enjoying the journey with British Airways.”

“We are consistently introducing India specific initiatives that allow us to create a meaningful connection with our young customers, and truly demonstrate our commitment to India,” he said.

British Airways commenced its Boeing 787-9 service to New Delhi from London-Heathrow from October 26, 2015. The 787s are the most technologically advanced aircrafts in British Airways' fleet. British Airways' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is 20ft longer than its 787-8 predecessor (of which the airline has eight), with World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), Club World (business class) and a new First class cabin – a first for the airline's 787 fleet.
