The newest Hindi general entertainment channel on the block, &TV, is all set for the next phase of growth with the introduction of four new shows this festive season. With its sustained ratings, the eight-month-old channel, which also launched its HD feed last month on Tata Sky, has been witnessing consistent advertising growth on a month on month basis and has recorded an overall growth of about 70-80 per cent since its launch.

The first of the new four shows is Balaji Telefilms' show, 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum', a love story, followed by the launch of the biweekly horror series 'Darr Sabko Lagta Hai'. While 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum' is the first Balaji Telefims production on &TV, 'Darr' marks the television debut of actress Bipasha Basu as the host. 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum' premieres on October 26 at 9.30 pm, while 'Darr' goes on air from October 31 at 10 pm and will be aired on Saturdays and Sundays.

&TV will launch yet another fiction show, 'Adhuri Kahanai Hamari', a fantasy saga of reincarnation, on November 16 at 7.30 pm. The show will air Monday to Friday. It will be followed by a socio-mytho show, 'Santoshi Maa', with actor Ratan Rajput in the lead role. The date and time for 'Santoshi Maa' will be revealed soon.

&TV's two acclaimed shows, 'Razia Sultan' and 'Badi Devrani', will make way for 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum' and 'Adhuri Kahani Hamari', respectively.

Speaking on the association with Balaji Telefilms for 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum', &TV Business Head Rajesh Iyer said, “We've been in talks with Balaji in the past. We're glad to have Ekta on board, and with the fact that the teams on both ends have worked very hard to put together a great viewing experience for the audience, we're hoping that the show does well.”

With 'Darr', the channel attempts to give a contemporary touch to the horror genre. The series is helmed by Raj and DK and will see a pool of talented directors narrate stories that are paranormal, supernatural, the unseen and unheard. The overall presentation of the horror series will be slightly different from other horror shows on television.

To begin with, 'Darr' is a 26-part series and the channel is open to extend it on the basis of response from the audience.

On roping in Bipasha Basu for 'Darr', Iyer said, “Of late, she has been strongly associated with the horror genre on the silver screen. If it is horror, then it has to be Bipasha Basu. She is a natural fit for this genre and horror surely is going to look beautiful through her eyes.”

“Her role is not just that of an anchor, she is an integral part of the story. The series is designed in a way that the audiences get to experience different faces of fear,” elaborated Iyer.

'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum' has Chings and Multani Chyawanprash as the co-powered by sponsors. Besides, the channel is said to have roped in three presenting sponsors for 'Santoshi Maa' and is expecting to finalise sponsors for all the shows.
